What about using \setuptolerance [tolerant] %% or verytolerant instead of using stretch? Is it suitable to use tolerance and stretch in this way together? It will probably work (though I never used it myself), but using the ConTeXt interface \setuptolerance is the better approach. Of course I want a nice type area - but for me that means that I definitely don't want a word written in the margin! Use a higher tolerance, not a lower one. (That happens with the default \tolerance 250 (without using stretch). What version are you using? A current ConTeXt has the \tolerance set to 200. \starttext\the\tolerance\stoptext Correct, my version has tolerance=200 as default, too. But in the manuel I read 250, so it was my mistake. My question is: I want to be absolutely sure, that no word is written in the margin with my settings. And if I use only \setuptolerance [tolerant] it might still happen. The reason for the smal tolerance was, that I want very small tolerance (= nice result ?) in most cases, but if a word is written in the margin, then it should stretch (word in the margin = worst case for me) ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___

Re: [NTG-context] Epub woes
Hi All, First off, I do not work with ConTexT, but with Lu(La)TeX. I follow this list looking for pointers. The way I understand how ConTexT produces output for epubs is that it just creates HTML. If ConTexT (or LuaTex) is to produce output for use in epubs it should map the ConTexT structures to html and the epub format. That is, it should produce separate files for each chapter. Furthermore, it should be able to create files for the spine, ncx, css, and cover page, etc automatically. This with reduce the amount of postprocessing Considerable. Furthermore, the method could be design to not only epub, but a mobi format. I have just started out on my own ideas for a Lau(La)Tex way of using it for the creation of ebooks and pdfs from the same source. Just my two cents, worth. Sorry, if I am creating noise here. regards Keith. ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___

Re: [NTG-context] vertical alignment problem in column items
Hi Dalyoung, I think that there must be a small bug in mkiv regarding itemize in columns, but at the same time I think that the problem comes from the fact that in your example you use inline maths and fractions: this perturbs the way the horizontal and vertical distances are calculated by mkiv. It seems that mkiv considers there is not enough horizontal space to put the four items in a row. If you use two columns the problem is solved, as you can see in the following examples (please typest it both with mkii and mkiv to see the differences).
