[NTG-context] Chapter headings macro

2013-02-07 Thread Devendra Ghate

Hello everyone,

I have defined a macro for the chapter layouts -- nothing fancy, but
still it is giving me trouble.
Essentially, I call this macro using *command=* in *\setuphead*. My
philosophy was to add
all the details in the macro, so that I don't have to call anyother
keyvalue pairs in *\setuphead*.
However, the macro gives two different results when called for
typesetting a chapter heading
by ConTeXt internals and explicitly by me in the document (see attached
file).

I don't know why the chapter number font style is not obeyed. If I add
*numberstyle=dfont* in
*\setuphead*, then the font size is increased but the frame size has
spurious space at top and

bottom.

When I call the macro myself, there is a single whitespace before the
chapter heading (as can be

seen in the attached file).

I have gone through the wiki as much as possible and I think that I
could have easily copied
*much better* heading styles from it. But I do not want to use code that
I don't fully

understand.

Any suggestions/help will be most appreciated.

Regards,
Devendra

What is the output of

If it includes the windows font directory, then run

mtxrun --script font --reload

Both environments use the same register to indent the content

left, middle and right depend on the font size:

left=1.5\emwidth
   right=1.5\emwidth

which means for your example:

  \setuplist [margin=7.5em]

There are several options:

- \fontchar{registered} (current font)
- ® (current font)
- \getnamedglyphdirect
{modern}
{registered}(any font)

You get the glyph name with:

\definebodyfont
  [default]
  [tfH=cmr12 scaled 7000]

works for me. Or you can use:

\definefont
  [TitleFont]
  [Serif at 40pt]

\starttext
  \TitleFont FooBar
\stoptext

Hm, context doesn't use the kpse lib.

That error is caused the cidmap callbacks that were added in luatex
0.74 and will be removed again in luatex 0.75. At some point, there
was code for those callbacks in the context beta, but not any more
apparently?

Meanwhile, foundry.supelec.fr is down because of hardware upgrades,
so we cannot do a new luatex release immediately. As soon as possible,
we promise.

Best wishes,

[NTG-context] How to scale fonts?

2013-02-07 Thread Devendra Ghate

Hello,

I want to use truly huge (40pt) fonts for chapter numbers.
In my latex code, I used

\newfont{\chapterNumber}{pplr9d scaled 7000}

From the context manual, I thought that

\definebodyfont [11pt] [rm]  [ tfH=cmr12 scaled 7000]

should do it. Though the above code doesn't throw any errors,
it doesn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

*MWE*

\definebodyfont [11pt] [rm]  [ tfH=cmr12 scaled 7000]
\starttext
  {\tfH 1}
\stoptext

Re: [NTG-context] Fixed Line Height

2013-02-07 Thread Otared Kavian
Hi Troy,

You are right, I am responsible for the old
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/SlideWithSteps
which is just adapted from what I used to use in the old good times of Plain
TeX. But I wasn't successful in changing the macros to make them work in mkiv.

I think the approach should completely change in order to use steps with mkiv
and lua.
Later on I'll send you some thoughts about this.

Best regards: OK
