Hans,

since it seems you don’t reproduce the bug, I wonder whether this might
be caused by Linux 32bit luatex binaries being version 1.0.5 and Windows
64bt has version 1.0.6.x.
no, it's more that i always have a newer luatex so older stuff has to be
simulated

Thanks for hint Aditya.

Idris, if you use Windows 10 then may be your OS has been updated (some
time ago one of host I has access with Windows 10 has been upgraded to
ver. Windows 10 1703) and then you have updated fonts, including
Cambria. AFAIU font cache tracks somehow font version, so in case fonts
update one has to update font cache.

I occasionally experience a similar issue (after an update wrong fontface
is used, especially with math fonts) and reloading the fonts database with
--force always fixes the issue for me. So, I have never bothered to

probably because it's the first 'name' that matches

you can try

cambria-x

=> LM

cambria-y

=> LM

cambria-a

=> LM

as variants ; here i have an official cambria

I only have the one that comes with the latest update to Windows 10

(Never tested Cambria with ConTeXt till a few days ago (\definefont
worked), and never tested the typescript till last night.)

Aditya's suggestion did something that seems to have fixed it, not sure
what..

Thank you for your answer, Henning.

I am sorry, but it does not work. The problem is that I don't have the
marking text in the header, but in overlays in the margins. I tried to
replace your

\setupheadertexts[][][][]

inside the setup with

\setupbackgrounds[text][rightmargin][background=]

but with no luck. But maybe you are right that one should use setups.

Hi Pablo,

many thanks for your answer! I think I might have described my issue a
bit vague. Just to clarify:

I do not want to change the output of the chapters/sections themself.

I want to have a "running header", but in the margin rather than in
the header. I get that with the code I gave, but I want to disable it
for new chapters _on the page where the chapter begins_.

If you have a copy of Bringhursts book, you know what I mean.

If it is still not clear what I mean please ask me to clarify it further.

Hi Mikael,

margintext as alternative for \setuphead may be a better approach:

\showframe
\setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided]

\definemargindata[margintext:chapter]
[margintext]
[width=\rightmarginwidth, location=outer, align=flushleft]

\defineheadalternative
[margintext:chapter]
[margintext]
[margintext=margintext:chapter]

\definemargindata[margintext:section]
[margintext]
[width=\leftmarginwidth, location=inner]

\defineheadalternative
[margintext:section]
[margintext]
[margintext=margintext:section]

\setuphead[chapter]
[alternative=margintext:chapter, style=\tf, number=no]
\setuphead[section]
[alternative=margintext, style=\tf, number=no]

\starttext

\chapter{Foo}
\dorecurse{15}{\section{Bar}\input ward\par}

\stoptext

All this comes from Hans replying to a question of mine some days ago
and from the last lines from typo-mar.mkiv.

I hope I got it right ;-),

Pablo

Re: [NTG-context] imposition with some rotated pages

2017-08-02 Thread Willi Egger
Hi Pablo,

hm, it seems that this is a special issue.

As I understand it you should separate the pages which are rotated. Then rotate
them into another file. Finally use the [2UP] arranging for reassembling all
pages.

The built in impositioning tool in Context is typesetting first all pages
upright. In an other run the pages are impositioned and rotaded as needed
according the the schema chosen. There is therefore no way to make a booklet
from your source directly,

I hope you will find a way to separate the rotated pages!

Best regards

[NTG-context] Disable overlay on chapter pages

2017-08-02 Thread Mikael P. Sundqvist
Hi,

I'm trying to print chapter and section titles in the margins, and it
works fine, except that the chapter title is also printed on the same
page as the chapter starts, which I find unnecessary.

1) Can I somehow (probably via the right \setuphead trick) disable
this overlay only on chapter pages?

2) If I want to disable it on another page, is there some smart way of
doint it, or should I just set it blank and then enable it when I know
I'm on next page again?

/Mikael

PS The code I have right now is given below. It compiles, but the
chapter title is shown on the first page...

\setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided]

\defineoverlay[mymargin][{\framed[frame=off,width=0.8in,height=0.8\textheight,offset=overlay,align={top}]{\doifrightpageelse{{\startalignment[flushleft]\getmarking[chapter]\stopalignment}}{{\startalignment[flushright]\getmarking[section]\stopalignment]

\setupbackgrounds[text][rightmargin][background=mymargin]

\starttext

\chapter{Foo}
\dorecurse{15}{\section{Bar}\input ward\par}

The rotated pages in the source PDF document are a problem here.

Is there any way to have rotation for some pages in the source document
to get the right imposition?

With "pdftk" you can rotate some or all pages of a pdf-document.
But perhaps this isn't what you want.

Many thanks for your reply, Rudolf.

I would avoid using pdftk, because I need a Windows computer for that
(problems with Java).

Besides being an extra step, I think imposition should rotate already
rotated pages (only to enable the right imposition).

the ultimate reference for that is Willi ...

Re: [NTG-context] (again) \typebufferinline for XML inline code

Would it be possible to have a new \typebufferinline that behaves such
as \type above (and has the same options in \setuptype)?

The most important part isn’t the suppression of line breaks inside, but
avoiding the addition of line breaks after and before the typed buffer.

I have been reading buff-ver.mkiv, but I’m afraid I cannot contribute
such a patch.

This is essential to have \xmlprettyprintinline and
\xmlprettyprintinlinetext in order to handle inline code in XML.

\startbuffer[foo]
foo \bar{crap}
\stopbuffer

\starttext
  \typebuffer[foo]
\stoptext

Many thanks for your reply, Hans.

I’m afraid this isn’t what I was looking for.

i'll make \xmlinlineprettyprinttext but there is where this madness stops

As shown in the following sample, I need \xmlprettyprinttext for code
inside a paragraph, not building its own paragraph.

 \startbuffer[demo]

 I can use colored code blocks:
 \starttext
 \ConTeXt\ is awesome!
 \stoptext
 But I’m afraid I cannot use \xmlprettyprinttext inline.

 \stopbuffer

 \startxmlsetups xml:initialize
  \xmlsetsetup{#1}{doc|p|code}{xml:*}
  \xmlsetsetup{#1}{pre/code}{xml:pre:code}
 \stopxmlsetups

 \xmlregistersetup{xml:initialize}

 \startxmlsetups xml:doc
  \xmlflush{#1}
 \stopxmlsetups

 \startxmlsetups xml:p
  \startpar\xmlflush{#1}\stoppar
 \stopxmlsetups

 \startxmlsetups xml:pre:code
  \xmlprettyprinttext{#1}{tex}
 \stopxmlsetups

 \startxmlsetups xml:code
 \begingroup\xmlprettyprinttext{#1}{tex}\endgroup
 \stopxmlsetups

 \starttext

 \subject{Dealing with XML}

  \xmlprocessbuffer{main}{demo}{}

 \subject{In standard \ConTeXt}

 \setuptyping[option=TEX]
 \setuptype[option=TEX]

 I can use colored code blocks:

 \starttyping
 \starttext
 \ConTeXt\ is awesome!
 \stoptext
 \stoptyping

 But I'm afraid I cannot use \type{\xmlprettyprinttext} inline.
 \stoptext

Many thanks for your help,

Pablo
