On the subject of fixes:
Hans' new ConTeXt release is now available for download, and it
includes fixes for \eqalign and \startalign. The release notes
are here:
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Context_2006.01.31
I'll do a formal announcement and CTAN upload tomorrow.
Cheers, taco
Matthias
Great, this works now!
That was definitely the easiest fix of the day.
Thanks a lot.

The PDF in the movie15 crashes my Acrobat, too, but this might have
been produced with
some older version of something
I have put the one I made on OS X/TeXShop pdf at
http://129.79.94.36/U3D/movie15.pdf
(197 k)
I can only say that it works with Acrobat 7.0.5 under OS X.

well, i compiled my last latex doc somewhere in the mid 90's so i just
took the pdf;

(2) another instance made acrobat drop dead

Warnings like this used to mean that you had a mismatch where you
have a virtual font (.vf) file, but that the m

Using the iinstaller CoNtExt version of today which contains the
newest (?)
core-mat.tex with the fixed \eqalign,
I still run into a problem with a standard \eqalign like
\starttext
\placeformula[-]
\startformula
\eqalign{
c:[0,2\pi] &\to R^2
\cr
t &\mapsto (a\cos(t), b\sin(t))
}
\stopformula
Can you expand? Doesn't it TeX, open, crash?
I don't think it runs on Linux yet, but OS X and Windows should be
supported.

Yes, it is broken. Hopefully there will be a patch soon (likewise for
the \eqalign problem)

As afollow-up, I tried moving the font files some place else.
I first hat the font directory in
~/Library/texmf/
and then put them into
~/Library/texmf//texmf/
where they are apparently found, this time the log file says the font
metrics can't be found.
See below. Do I have to generate them
Hi Matthias, Hans,
This kind of features is very interesting for me. Unfortunately, I've
LaTeXed movie15 and it doesn't work here (texlive2005 on linux). Since,
I'm a linuxian, I didn't have advanced plugins with my acrobat reader

Hi Thomas,I sticked with a 2005 release from last fall (very old???) to avoid running into incompatibility issues with current projects. After updating (iinstaller), three things happen:i) \eqalign breaks (as noted before on this list, I have to see whether there is a fix... :(ii) updmap-sys works

Oops, that means your TeX installation is really old. Are you using Gerben's distribution? I'd recommend upgrading unless there's an important reason why you wouldn't want to do so. I'm afraid it'll be difficult to help you with your problem on your current installation, I don't have access to a ma

Hello All,
The example below shows two tables. The first table has the height
of its 1st row explicitly set, which then carries over to the second
table causing the content to overflow the boundaries of the table.
My question: Is there a way to either a) reset the row height for the
second table
(Thanks Taco)

It's a pity not to be able to do this kind of snooping, I think.

The short answer is: you can't.
From within TeX, the only thing possible is to try to load
a font, and see if that works or not. There is no way to
ask for a 'list of installed fonts', so you would have to
