I would like to have Figure captions that look like this (centered, a newline
between the number and the description):

The description of the figure
For now I put the linebreak manually in each caption text as you can see
below.

Another simple question--have at it!
I'd like to typeset some poetry. It should be indented, obey lines,
and the lines should be close together, not like separate paragraphs.
So far I've got

In some countries it is traditional that footnote rules have the following
behaviour:
When a footnote doesn't fit entirely in one page, and has to be continued in
the next one, the footnote rule in the second page has to be longer, to show
that the footnote doesn't start there, but
