[NTG-context] Not able to use Bibtex module

2007-02-16 Thread Zulkifli Hidayat
Hi,

I'm trying to use bib module. So far, I still can't make it work. I can't
have the pdf shows the list of reference.

I have made a small test file to try the bib module (it is shown below
this mail). For the test, I use only the default options. I also attach
the output of the Context process. My Context version is 12.01.2007 on MS
Windows XP SP2.

So what I did are:
1. Make the .bbl file - tes.bbl
2. Make the main file - tes.tex
3. Include the tes.bbl in tes.tex as it is written below

Any comment is appreciated.

Thanks, \executesystemcommand{myscript.rb} seems to work.

But what is the best way to insert a result (say, formatted text) into the
'caller' document body?
The only idea I have is to use \input later in the document, but I'm not sure
that it would work.

if you put your scripts in the texmf tree, you can also use:

texmfstart 1.rb

(which will locate the script and run it)

I did not actually try your file, but the reason it is not working may
be spaces in your key value assignments.

key(space)=(space)value,

use

There can be spaces before the key, as is

but there should be no other spaces.

Since the note is defined in a group, its meaning is lost when you go
out of the group. But the note in actually inserted at the end of the
current-page, by which time, tex has no idea of counter of the note,
hence the error.

I am not sure if this is the correct behaviour or should definenote
should change to make sure that something like this works. I tend to
think that this is the correct behaviour. Do you really need to define
the note inside a group?

(In your example the group is being created by the braces in
{\typebuffer \getbuffer})

you need to define the footnote at the outer level and not grouped otherwise
it's invisible in the OTR

it's correct behaviour; document features (such as footnotes) should be
defined in the preamble

it's kind of tricky to globalize it because it would mean that we have
to make sure that all related things are global as well, which
mayinterfere with local style adaptions etc

Sorry, I misunderstood; by 'group' you meant the type-get buffer group. I
think that allows me to use the same buffer name for a series of examples
(I ripped this method off of some examples from Hans).

[NTG-context] \start-\stop footnotes

2007-02-16 Thread Idris Samawi Hamid
Dear syndicate,

For looong footnotes it would be nice to have \start-\stop footnotes for
easier editing, but these are not defined in ConTeXt. So I tried

\definestartstop
   [footnote]
   [before=\footnote\bgroup,
 after=\egroup]

\startbuffer[footnote]%

test test test test test test test test
 \footnote{This is a basic footnote.}
test test test test test test test test
 \footnote{This is another basic footnote.}
test test test test test test test test test test test test test.
\startfootnote
Here is a footnote environment.
\stopfootnote
\stopbuffer

{\typebuffer[footnote] \getbuffer[footnote]} \page

But this does nothing.

   [before=\footnote{,
 after=}]

does not work either (and is not equivalent to (b/e}group). Please advise!

How can I cope with this?

[NTG-context] Enabling PDF comments with ConTeXt

2007-02-16 Thread Jan Mikkelsen
Hi,

In early 2005 there was a thread ConTeXt tool for enabling comments in PDF
? which discussed the ways in which the output from ConTeXt/pdftex could be
commented on by an Acrobat user using the PDF commenting feature.

Has anyone done anything more on this? Is there some magic
--enable-commenting switch that I can't see?

Thanks,

Jan Mikkelsen

I doubt it.

Thanks. I see where the problem lies now!

Re: [NTG-context] vertical stretch for TABLE ?

2007-02-16 Thread luigi scarso
Sorry, no news (but I re-discover \traceTABLEtrue...)
Hint: look into cont-ntb.tex . There are some examples that aren't show even
if you create the documentation with --modules switch.
