[NTG-context] Headertexts in the center

2014-01-08 Thread H. Özoguz

Hi there,

with

\setupheadertexts

which takes four arguments, one can place headertexts on four places on
a double-page.
But how one can place only two headertexts at the top-center of the
even/odd pages?

So the arguments should not be places (left-right)-(right left) but
simply (center)-(center).

Thanks!
Huseyin

Mojca,

sorry for the noise, but I have realized that I was wrong in my both
previous statements.

With the betas that come with luatex-0.78.0 (in 32-bit Linux), the
ConTeXt format generation fails only when using LuajitTeX, not LuaTeX.

And keeping my format file from my previous install doesn’t avoid the
issue. It simply doesn’t compile the ConTeXt source, but I failed to
notice it.

Many thanks for your help,

Yes, you need an opentype math font but when it would be possible to use the
fallback
mechanism with a virtual math font the \definefallbackfamily can’t be used for
them.

 However, I'm glad to know ConTeXt's font handling is evolving!

The support of the fallback mechanism for math fonts was a recent addition from
Hans.

The new \definefontfamily commands are part of the new version of the
simplefonts
module which tries to stay closer to context normal typeface mechanism.

[NTG-context] trouble with the title page using the FramedTitle style of the simpleslides module

2014-01-08 Thread Jesse Alama
I'm working with the simpleslides module and am trying to prepare a
presentation using the FramedTitle style. Things are mostly OK, but I
notice one curious problem with the title page. Try this out on the
live ConTeXt installation:

% -- the beginning
\usemodule[simpleslides]
  [
style=FramedTitle,
  ]
\setupTitle[
  title={Why is this red?},
  author={You},
  date={\date[y=2014,m=1,d=07]},
]
\placeTitle
\SlideTitle{this is white (maybe grey)}
text in black as expected
% -- the end

What I notice is that the text on the title page (title, author, date) is

* in red on a red background (quite hard to read), and
* not centered (even though in the documentation for the simpleslides
module and the examples it contains the content on the titleslide
ought to be centered).

I'm using an up-to-date ConTexT; I have the minimals installed on my machine and
just did an update today using

  $ ./first-setup.sh --modules=all

I'm running in mkiv mode in the sense that I run simply

  $ context slides.tex

and I can confirm, using

  $ which context

that I really am running the ConTeXt that I expect. In any case, the
curiosity I describe can be replicated using the live ConTeXt on the
ConTeXtgarden. Can you see what might be going wrong?

Thanks,

Jesse

Indeed, that fixes the compilation! And 2-part matras are fine now.
But the output (shaping) is not what is expected as you have observed. Notably:
1. When a pre-base matra follows the akhn ligatures are broken
2. pref, pstf and blwf ligatures are not formed

module and the examples it contains the content on the titleslide
ought to be centered).

Oops, this was put in for debugging purposes and never removed. You can
do either of these two things:

1. fix the file simpleslides-s-FuzzyFrame.tex with this patch:

2. or set these things up in your file:

\setupTitle[
  titlealign=middle,
  titlecolor=simpleslides:backgroundcolor,
  authoralign=middle,
  authorcolor=simpleslides:backgroundcolor,
  datealign=middle,
  datecolor=simpleslides:backgroundcolor,
  title={Why is this red?},
  author={You},
  date={\date[y=2014,m=1,d=07]},
]

Sorry, will be fixed in next release.
