Sorry about that! In the following example, the number of authors is cut

Thanks,

\definebtxdataset[example]
\usebtxdataset[example][test.bib]
\definebtxrendering[example][dataset=example,method=local,alternative=apa]
\setupbtxlistvariant[etallimit=3,etaldisplay=3,etaltext={\it et al}]

\placebtxrendering[example]

Thanks Hans, I am really sorry but I still do not get any entry printed (I
followed your explanation as well as p. 25 of mkiv-publications.pdf)

Could you just give a minimal example?
And, if possible, a way to sort by date...

Once again, my apologies for taking your time with that.

[NTG-context] Bibliography: criterium=all

2014-07-15 Thread Flavien Lambert
Hi everyone, I really have difficulties with the bibliograpy system. Sorry
about that. I would like to print the whole bibliography so I followed
mkiv-publications.pdf and ended up with the file:

\usebtxdataset[example][./mkiv-publications.bib]

\definebtxrendering
  [example]
  [dataset=example,
   method=local,
   alternative=apa]

\starttext

\showbtxdatasetfields[example]
\placebtxrendering
  [example]
  [criterium=all]

\stoptext

I get the list but not the bibliography itself.

What is wrong with my file? Is there also a way to sort the entries by date?

[NTG-context] bibliography and etaltext

2014-07-09 Thread Flavien Lambert
Hi, I would like the bibliography to rendered with only the first author
and then et al, so I tried

\definebtxrendering[example][dataset=example,method=local,alternative=apa]
\setupbtxlistvariant[etallimit=2,etaldisplay=2,etaltext={\it et al}]

but without success.

This was my first step. In fact, I would like to use it on my customized
bibliography below.

\definebtxdataset[example]
\usebtxdataset[example][../social.bib]
\definebtxrendering[example][dataset=example,method=local,alternative=flavien]
\setupbtxlistvariant[etallimit=2,etaldisplay=2,etaltext={\it et al}]
\startsetups btx:flavien:article
  \btxfield{author}\crlf
  {\bf \btxfield{journal}}: \btxfield{pages}, volume~\btxfield{volume}
(\btxfield{number}), \btxfield{year}\crlf
  {\it \btxfield{title}}

\startframedtext[frame=on,leftframe=on,rightframe=off,topframe=off,bottomframe=off,location=middle,align=right,width=0.9\textwidth,bodyfont=small]
\btxfield{abstract}
  \stopframedtext
\stopsetups

Thanks,
F.

Hi Robin, thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, except for the syntax
in the TeX file, I do not get "num". What is this? Do I have to modify the
bibtex file? If so, I do not understand since it is a regular one.
Thanks for your help,

[NTG-context] bibliography MKiV

2014-07-09 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, I tried to reproduce the example of mkiv-publications.pdf,
chapter 10 through:

\definebtxdataset[document]
\usebtxdataset[document][test.bib]
\definebtxrendering[document]
\setupbtxrendering[document][numbering=yes]
\starttext
\starttext
As \cite[batty] already indicated, bibtex is a \LATEX||centric
program.
\completebtxrendering[document]
\stoptext

with test.bib as

@article{batty,
author = 'M. Batty',
title = 'The size, scale, and shape of cities',
journal = 'Science',
volume = '319',
number = '5864',
pages = '769--771',
year = '2008'
}

Unfortunately, the result is two pages, one with As [] already
indicated, bibtex is a L A TEX--centric program. and the other with a large
1.

Could you tell me what I am doing wrong? My apologies if it is really
obvious...

[NTG-context] No new paragraph after framedtext

2014-07-05 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, I was wondering if there was a way to avoid a new paragraph after
a framed text. For example, the following code

\starttext
\framedtext[width=6em]{abc}\framedtext[width=6em]{abc}
\stoptext

produces two boxes on top of each other. Is it possible to make them side
by side?

I could use a table but I would like to keep the possibility of playing
with the framebox size as much as I want (like a patchwork of boxes of
different sizes that would span part of the pages).

Best,
Flavien.

2014-06-10 Thread Flavien Lambert
Hi all, following the subject of my previous messages, I was wondering what
is the paremeter that governs the parentheses, brackets and so on.
The following command does change the sum sign for example but not the rest:

\definefallbackfamily [mainface] [math] [Latin Modern Math]
[preset=math:mathematicaloperators,tf=name:latinmodernsans,scale=1.2]

[regularfont=ubuntu,italicfont=ubuntuitalic,boldfont=ubuntubold]
\definefallbackfamily [mainface] [math] [Ubuntu]
[preset=math:lowercaseitalic,tf=name:ubuntu]
\definefontfamily [mainface] [math] [Latin Modern Math]

\setupbodyfont[mainface]

I am also interesting by knowing where I can find all the features
"preset=math:" possible.

Best regards,

[NTG-context] Comfortaa font and ligatures

2013-12-30 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, I would like to use the comfortaa font available at
http://www.dafont.com/comfortaa.font. I managed - maybe in a wrong way - to
do it through the following example:

\definefontfeature[comfortaa][mode=node,kern=yes,liga=yes,dlig=yes]
\starttypescriptcollection[comfortaa]
  \starttypescript[sans][comfortaa][name]
\setups[font:fallback:sans]
\definefontsynonym[Sans][name:comfortaa][features=default]
  \stoptypescript
  \starttypescript[comfortaa]
\definetypeface[\typescriptone][ss][sans][comfortaa][default]
  \stoptypescript
\stoptypescriptcollection
\setupbodyfont[comfortaa]

\starttext
fl fi
\stoptext

Unfortunately, there are no ligatures whereas the snapshots given by the
author show some of them like fi and fl.
Did I use the correct script?
Best regards,
Flavien.

[NTG-context] [OT] Type:Rider

2013-12-10 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, I am pretty sure that some of you are fond of typography so I
dared to make you aware of a really beautiful game running on phones and
tablets dedicated to typography. Called Type:Rider, it is composed of
several chapters, each dealing with a period of time illustrating the main
techniques, fonts and design ideas. The game is really well done in terms
of picture and music, the character being two dots evolving on letters from
the main font of the time with background extracted from well-known art
scenes.
Best regards,
Flavien.

[NTG-context] Question related to the placement of figures

2013-10-08 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, I would like to wrap text around two figures. I tried to use both
placefigure and starthangaround without achieving what I wanted. So I moved
towards you to get some explanations on the behavior of the commands.

I have two figures and one paragraph. If possible, I would like to place
one figure on the top left and the other on the bottom right, the text
moving smoothly in between, something like (o is figure, x text)

o
o
xx
xx
xx
 o
 o

or even better

xx
o
o
xx
xx
xx
 o
 o
xx
xx

I can, of course, slice the text in two pieces and use either placefigure
or hangaround but, then, there's a vertical space between the two
paragraphs.
Related to the subject, is there way to impose a few lines before a figure
with hangaround like the second layout example?

Thanks a lot,
Flavien.

[NTG-context] Title in textrule

2011-04-12 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, is there a way to change the style and size of the font used to
print "Instruments" in the following example ? I would like something like
\bfb\ss.

\textrule[top]{Instruments}
Some artists mention the instruments that they use during the production
of their \kap{CD}. In Peter Gabriel’s \quote {Digging in the dust} he used
the {\em diembe}, {\em tama} and {\em surdu}. The information on another
song mentions the {\em doudouk}. Other \quote {unknown} instruments are
used on his \kap{cd} \quote {Passion}.
\textrule

I tried with two columns then by defining a paragraph but without success. I

Any hint ?

[NTG-context] Numbering of "sub"-header

2009-09-23 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, I am using Mark IV from the minimals. I have a problem concerning
the numbering fo my "sub-header". I defined exercices in the following way :

% Titres
\setuphead[subject][textstyle={\bfc},align=left,after=\hairline]

% Commandes
\def\exnu#1{%

\framed[width=1.5em,corner=06,background=color,backgroundcolor=myGray,foreground=color,foregroundcolor=white]{#1}%
}
\definehead[exercice][subsection]
\setuphead[exercice][textstyle={\bf},numberstyle={},numbercommand=\exnu]

A few months ago, when using Mark II, the numbering of exercice was
continuous even if new sujects were introduced. But now, the numbering is
reinitialized when I put a subject. Can I go back to the previous behaviour
?

Re: [NTG-context] "Invalid field" in Mark IV

2009-05-13 Thread Flavien Lambert
In the following example, it is the ";" that leads to the error
\def\vect#1{%
  \overrightarrow{#1}
}
\starttext
$({\rm O};\vect{e_{x}})$
\stoptext

If you suppress it, it works fine. (???)

[NTG-context] Strange behaviour with colors and figures

2008-10-22 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, as expressed by the title, I have a very strange behaviour between
colors and figures. Here is the example :
\setupcolors[state=start]
\definecolor[gris][r=0.310,g=0.333,b=0.341]

\starttext
  \placefigure{}{\externalfigure[myfigure]}
  \color[gris]{\tfd Some text}
\stoptext

If myfigure is a PDF file, everything is ok with MKII, MKIV and XeTeX. If
myfigure is a PNG file with transparency, then the "gris" color is ok with
MKII but not with MKIV and XeTeX if the resulting document is read with
Adobe Reader on Linux (when read with evince, colors are ok !). In the
latter case, the "gris" color is very dark close to black and the green of
myfigure becomes flashy...
Quite puzzling !

In fact, I have just checked that this options are not necessary. I forgot
to say that I was using XeTeX. It seems that, even with these options,
accented letters are not printed properly in the properties of the document.
There is no problems with standard ConTeXt (MKII).

Re: [NTG-context] Greek letters in math with XeTeX

2008-09-08 Thread Flavien Lambert
Just to understand a bit more : signs like equal are printed inside math
environment with GFS Didot thanks to \definetypeface[myface][rm][Xserif][GFS
Didot]. Since GFS Didot ,as a greek font has greek letters, why are these
glyphs not used ? I suppose that when greek people are using directly alpha
as a letter (not \alpha), it should take into account the GFS Didot font,
shouldn' it ?

[NTG-context] Greek letters in math with XeTeX

Dear all, I try to use Open Type fonts with ConTeXt and XeTeX (I recently
did the same with LaTeX using fontspec and mathspec packages). From the web
site, I managed to use them for standard text as well as roman alphabet in
math. Unfortunately, greek letters stay printed with the Latin Modern font.
>From examples of the web site, I tried the following lines but without
success. In a preceding post, there was a similar question but with the
luatex engine.
Thanks for your help !

\definetypeface[myface][rm][Xserif][GFS Didot]
\definetypeface[myface][mm][math][GFS Didot]

\starttext

Normal text.

\startformula
\alpha + \beta = 10
\stopformula

Re: [NTG-context] Feature request: \digits command

Dear all, I allow me to use this message for a related topic on the digits
command. I took a look at the "manual" on the digits command but did not
found a way to cut a number by group of three digits like
the numprint command, e.g. 100 becomes 1 000 000.
With the digits option 3, dots become thinmuskips. I would like to do
something similar but automatically for groups of three digits. For people
who know the numprint package, this is default option with the french
language.
Best regards.

[NTG-context] How do legends work ?

Dear all,
I am a new user of ConTeXt. Despite the manuals and the wiki, I am unable to
use correctly legends. I tried to modify the legend typography through the
\setuplegend command but it does not seem to work. Here is an example I used
in Live ConTeXt on the wiki :
\setuplegend[bodyfont=small] % or big, 20pt, whatever...
\starttext
Hello world!
\startlegend
\leg test \\ test \\ test \\
\stoplegend
\stoptext
The PDF file produced has no change of font size.
Surely I did not understand how legends work. Let me say that my first
attempt was to get rid of the "=" sign in the legend.

[NTG-context] PGF and definecolor

2008-02-14 Thread Flavien Lambert
Dear all, I am a newbie in ConTeXt. I am accustomed to use pgf in LaTeX and
have seen that pgf is also a module for ConTeXt. When using some of my pgf
macros in ConTeXt, I had several erros coming from the fact that colors are
defined by the "same" command in both pgf and ConTeXt, namely
\definecolor[mycolor][r=,g=,b=] in ConText and
\definecolor{mycolor}{rgb}{,,} in pgf.
It seems to me impossible to use the pgf command directly and, in the same
time, impossible to use ConTeXt-defined color in pgf macros.
Here is an example :
\usemodule[pgf]
\definecolor[mycolor][r=0.5,g=0.5,b=0.5]
\starttext
\pgfdeclarehorizontalshading{myshading}{1cm}{%
  color(0cm)=(mycolor);color(1cm)=(green)}
\pgfuseshading{myshading}
\stoptext

There is an error with \definecolor and the shading. If you replace
(mycolor) by (red) in the shading and suppress the \definecolor, it is fine.
Best regards.
