I tried the first example from fill-in fields:

strange. the error here is caused by the undefined '\DVI' macro
(outdated context from 26.01.2011). loading the right module (preferred)
or using a separate definition should solve this.

is your fault caused by an undefined '\fillinfield' then?
you can test it by replacing the '\DVI' macro with the text 'DVI'.

Or do you mean that \fillinfield is not defined. Which module should I use

No, because I use Linux.
I tried:
find ~/ConTeXt -name scrn-fld.mkiv

But this did find nothing.

I also tried:
find ~/ConTeXt -name '*fld*'

This gives:
/home/cecil/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/scrn-fld.lua
/home/cecil/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/java-fld.mkii
/home/cecil/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/scrn-fld.mkii
/home/cecil/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/lpdf-fld.lua
/home/cecil/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/java-imp-fld.mkiv
/home/cecil/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/scrn-fld.mkvi

Maybe the last one is wrong? .mkvi instead of .mkiv.

It starts with:
%D \module
%D [ file=scrn-fld,
%Dversion=1997.05.18,
%D title=\CONTEXT\ Screen Macros,
%D subtitle=Fields,
%D author=Hans Hagen,
%D date=\currentdate,
%D copyright={PRAGMA / Hans Hagen \ Ton Otten}]
%C
%C This module is part of the \CONTEXT\ macro||package and is
%C therefore copyrighted by \PRAGMA. See mreadme.pdf for
%C details.

% There is still some leftover code from mkii, where we need to
% be sparse with hash entries and so have a somewhat complex
% setup mechanism.

% interaction checking

\writestatus{loading}{ConTeXt Screen Macros / Fields}

\unprotect

\registerctxluafile{scrn-fld}{1.001}

%D In \MKII\ we had to cheat a bit with setups in order not to run
%D out of memory with thousands of fields, which we happen to need at
%D that time. In \MKIV\ we can store some data at the \LUA\ end and
%D use a somewhat slower but quite okay inheritance mechanism. For
%D this reason we now have split definitions, although the old method
%D is still somewhat supported. The clone and copy commands are
%D somewhat obsolete for several reasons: we can now use inheritance
%D and autocloning has been supported for a while. In most cases
%D cloning (especially with check boxes) the acrobat browser is not
%D stable enough with respect to appearance handling.

So I'll look what happens if I rename it.

No, “mkvi” is a valid file extension for MkIV. The difference between
a mkiv and a mkvi file is that you can use named parameters, e.g.

  \def\command#1#2{#1 : #2}

can be written in a mkvi file as

  \def\command#first#second{#first : #second}

Nothing. But maybe it should be .mkvi instead of .mkiv? That is found.

are you one of the pretesters for the upcoming MKVI?
otherwise rename the file ;-)

That works. Now try to understand it.

http://www.pragma-ade.com/show-man-22.htm should be changed then.

You should also include this info on the wiki.

I changed the page about the page about \fillinfield. Does not look
very good, but better something as nothing.

By the way: registering was a little bothersome. I needed to answer
three validation questions.

So the next versions will be mkix, mkxi, mkxv, mkxx, mkxl, mkli, mklv, and
mkxc. It is gonig to get confusing real soon :)

BTW, does anyone has a minimal example on how to use mkvi syntax. I tried
a few examples, but the best that I could do was using one of the mtx-*
scripts to convert mkvi to tex (And that conversion does not work for
\starttextdefinition ... \stoptexdefinition).

I tried the first example from fill-in fields:
\starttext

A few years back, \TEX\ could only produce
\fillinfield [dvi]{\DVI} output,
but nowadays, thanks to \fillinfield {Han The Thanh}, we can also directly
produce \fillinfield [pdf] {\PDF}!
Nice eh? Actually, while the first field module was prototyped
in \ACROBAT, the current implementation was debugged in
\fillinfield [pdfTeX] {\PDFTEX}. Field support in \fillinfield
[ConTeXt] {\CONTEXT} is rather advanced and complete and all
kind of fields are supported. One can hook in appearances, and
validation \fillinfield [JavaScripts] {\JAVASCRIPT}’s. Fields
can be cloned and copied, where the latter saves some space. By
using \fillinfield {objects} when suited, this module saves
space anyway.

\stoptext

But I get:
mtx-context | run 1: luatex
--fmt=/home/cecil/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-cache/luatex-cache/context/5fe67e0bfe781ce0dde776fb1556f32e/formats/cont-en
