ConTeXt mkiv is not so wrong: 'mkiv' is used as suffix. I think that's precisely why it is wrong to use it as a name... (wrong might be too strong a judgement, but it's inaccurate at least). Otherwise ConTeXt could simply be called tex in many cases ;-) Just as LaTeX, for that matter.
