Nothing has changed between installing SP2 and prior to that (there was no service patch installed prior to SP2). I had once applied SP1 and had the same thing, I just reinstalled the OS that time. The boot.ini seems to be okay since it is booting to my Win2K volume, the blue screen occurs

Are you running mirrors? I believe those are simiilar symptoms as to booting off the wrong disk of a mirror set. If not that, double-check your boot.ini against valid params ID'd in Q102873 and Q227704. If you still can't get it, add /sos to the end of the boot.ini entry to see a list of drivers
