Found the source of the problem, the red channel was missing from the Maya
Position pass render, managed to rebuild the pass with the geo and camera
inside Nuke, thanks anyway Julien

hi all, this is probably a bit of a newb question, but when importing a scene
into max, adding some form of geometry and rendering it out with it's various
passes, it does not fit back into the comp in NUKE properly. As in the camera
is out of whack. I am assuming there is some difference

actually I read and always find what I need. But the last two days I was
searching the net for the topic and while Im a bit in trouble with time, I ask
you.
I got 32bit exr depth files and need to convert them into 16bit grayscale tiff.
So from what i read, i take the .exr that has only
oh, i guess i found the problem.
the grade node after curvetool needs to be switched on alpha and not rgba.
hope i did not mess up something under the hood with that, but i looks correkt
now.

You can download Redcine-x from Red's site,
it can conform and EDL for you, render the footage out,
and its free.

Yes, thats common problem. Nuke is unable to interpret FBX camera correctly.
Your best bet is to use NukeEm plugin in 3DSMAX to move your scene to Nuke.

Im pretty green to Nuke...
Im rendering from XSI at 12.5 FPS, rendering every other frame. 0,2,4,6,etc.
Nuke is reading them and for missing frames Ive got Nearest Frame selected. All
good.
When I render out of Nuke, ideally id like it to render missing frames 1,3,5,7
etc. so that there
this time i tried a different way. 'Personal Installation' instead of
'Site-wide installation' and it worked great. Thanks.

I'm a bit confused about which Nuke correct workflow I should use when I export
EXR image files from RedCine X using Color Space as REDcolor3 and Gamma Space
REDlogFilm.
Do I have to read my EXR file as RAW and put a Log2Lin node to get the corret
color range?What about Viewer
