A little before 3:00 PM today I saw two Hudsonian Godwits at the North Island
on the East Pond. Also seen were:
Black-bellied Plover
Semipalmated Plover
American Avocet
Lesser Yellowlegs
Ruddy Turnstone (1)
Red Knot (1)
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
White-rumped Sandpiper (1)
Dunlin (1)
We usually go to an earlier Sunday Mass, but due to our grandson's Little
League Baseball game at Cooper's Town being shown on the computer this AM, we
had to go to the noon mass at a neighboring parish. By doing so, I checked
NY-BIRDS later than I normally would have, and not been too

Doctor's Path between Northville Tpke. and Sound Av. across from the Doctor's

Sorry about not sending this sooner. Lots of exposed mud at Tifft = lots of
shorebirds. I was having trouble with some of the more distant birds - if
you have a scope you might have better luck (some of the birds were very
close, and much easier to ID).
Tifft Nature Preserve, Erie,
Tom Burke, Andy Guthrie and I are looking at a Buff-breasted Sandpiper in
the field on the west side of Eastport Manor Rd, north of route 51 {across
from the Valero's gas station}. Gail Benson

The American White Pelican continues on the East Pond on the east side about 50
yards south of North Island. In addition, the American Avocet (presumably) the
same bird from yesterday is at the North End of the East Pond.
