WHILE SEARCHING A SMALL GROUP OF PINES ON THE 15TH HOLE ON BELLPORT COUNTRY
CLUB GOLF COURSE(PRIVATE) THIS AFTERNOON, I CAME ACROSS SOME GOLDFINCH, PINE
SISKIN AND A WHITE WINGED CROSSBILL. THE CROSSBILL WAS FEEDING BELOW EYE
LEVEL AND ALLOWED ME TO APPROACH WITHIN AN ARMS LENGTH AND WENT RIGHT
Folks:
I observed a 1st winter Black-headed Gull at Hook Pond in East Hampton.
It was located on the section of the golf course at the northern
shore of the eastern end of Hook Pond. It was sitting among
Ring-billed, Herring and Laughing Gulls. This location is visible
from Dunemere Lane
