I seem to be on a run with WHITE-FRONTED GEESE. Today Betsy and I found my
fifth one (four locations) in four days. This one was on Rt 18, just west
of Murdock Rd in the Town of Yates, Orleans County. On the day, we also had
41(!) CACKLING GEESE. Thirty of these were in one relatively small
My sister and I visited a few spots around Amagansett and Springs.
Highlights were:

5 EASTERN TOWHEES (Stony Hill Trail)
At Accabonac Harbor:
1 OSPREY
1 PIPING PLOVER (FOS)
3 AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS (FOS)
2 Greater Yellowlegs

The BARNACLE GOOSE and CACKLING GOOSE, presumably the same ones that
frequented Van Cortlandt Park earlier in the winter, continue at Larchmont
Reservoir with about 140 Canadas.
