After several lackluster days with 15, 14, and 16 birds being seen on September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, respectively, we had 72 nighthawks tonight in 90 minutes of observation. Toward dusk nine birds came down over the north pond to feed below the treeline, providing good views.  -- NYSbirds-L L
