This morning, the *Progne *was perched in a tree at the NW corner of
Prospect Park Lake with a dozen Tree Swallows and a single Northern
Rough-winged Swallow. It stayed perched in the tree, puffed up in the

A female King Eider, sub adult is mixed in with a flock of common eiders and
long tailed ducks near the jetty if you enter in by the memorial...3 jettys
west of the inlet. Harlequins were perched on rocks the next jetty to the east

A pair of eagles was recently seen on a nest in Patchogue village atop a

Well the second day after the martin houses went back up this season at Croton
Point Park a purple martin has been photographed. Nice to have them back albeit
not a Cuban / Caribbean / Sinaloan / or Grey-Breasted martin — but then we
don’t have Doug G up here!!
