I arrived at the Shawangunk Grasslands this morning at about 6:45 am and found
the bird right where Curt said they had seen it. It even posed for me. Thanks

Ryan makes a good point about the owners. I asked permission to bird
the farm. They were very nice about it. I don't know if that applies
to an army of birders. I asked at the nursery that is located on
Pitcher La., that runs parallel to Rockefeller La .just north of the
fields.

Susan Rogers and I were kayaking in the Hudson River, just south of
Saugerties lighthouse in Saugerties, Ulster Co. There is a blue roofed
house that sits on a narrow peninsula . Just south of it, there is a
bay on the western shore. In that bay we were watching peeps on the
water chestnut

I found the bird at the second corner of Donato as you come from
Mapleton. It was perched in a dead tree. It flew after about one
minute, disappearing over the tree line. It was about 11:30 am.

Chrissy Guarino just called me to say she is seeing a white Gyrfalcon
in New Paltz along Rt 299 near Lowes. The bird seems to be staying in
the area. She will post later to give specific details.
