This discussion prompted me to dig. I had a Black Swan at JBWR on
7/18/93. A write-in on the printed refuge checklist with notation,
"escapee".

A single Cackling Goose has joined flock of 30+/- Canada Geese on the upper
section of Bronx River where it enters Zoo at East Fordham Road. Not an
exhibit bird from Zoo collection so far as I know ( I'll be checking w/Orn
collection curators and report back if otherwise)

Just saw Mississippi Kite at Bronx Zoo's ParkingLot A, Westbound. Pointed
wings, smooth dusky coloration and upper wing with pale ashy trailing
edge. Gobsmacked.

Foraging in dense bamboo by camel pen by Asia Gate entry. Almost mistook
call for Winter Wren... Similar note, but delivered singly. Well marked
bright male, though black crown somewhat reduced.

There's currently a male Wilson's Warbler flitting between bamboo clumps
near the (closed for season) monorail entry at Wild Asia Plaza. Active
