There's only about 100 close-by Canada Geese to scan through to look for this
Cackling Goose , right now its just about in the middle of the pond...viewing
from near the side of Windsor road by the fence! Good luck if you go!! This
bird is smaller, frostier in color with a smaller bill

A Cackling Goose is currently roosting on the western shore of the lake at
Arthur J. Hendrickson Park in Valley Stream. This is a known individual that
was first documented here in the winter of 2016-2017. Unlike the Pink-footed

A Cackling Goose is currently visible on the lake at Hendrickson with a flock

I found a Richardson’s Cackling Goose on an evening walk at Hendrickson Park.
The bird was feeding within the fence by the handball courts on the
southwestern side of the lake. Overall goose numbers continue to increase
slowly but steadily.

I visited the Nassau County waterway corridor from Hempstead Lake southward
for the first time since the CBC. As on the CBC, a Cackling Goose was on the
Mill River, in the vicinity of East Rockaway High School. After it drifted
down river along with a small group of Canadas, I relocated it from

Mei Yee and I just found a Cackling Goose in a flock of about 1100 Canada Geese
on the Parade Grounds at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
This is a classic looking Cackling, presumably Richardson's and should not be
too difficult to pick out from the flock.

A single Cackling Goose has joined flock of 30+/- Canada Geese on the upper
section of Bronx River where it enters Zoo at East Fordham Road. Not an

This morning, in a fruitless attempt to re-find yesterday's Cattle Egret at
Caumsett Historic State Park, in Suffolk Co., I came across a single
Cackling Goose in a flock of approximately 200-300 Canada Geese. The

long ago in Central Park that resulted in a whole lot of "cackling" over the ID.
An interesting juvenile first basic type plumage on this candidate. Good work

flock in the field just northeast of the Ducks Stadium by the court houses.

flock along the e/s Roanoke Ave, n/o Reeves Ave, Riverhead. The size of the
flock was only about 1/4 of Sunday's, and we did not find anything but
Canadas at this location. We then headed east on Sound Ave and found a

morning on the Centerport Mill Pond as viewed from the DEC property on
Centershore Road. Note that the bird was previously seen on Tung Ting

This evening, I observed a single CACKLING GOOSE among a group of 600 Canada
Geese on the sod field north of Head of the Neck Road in Manorville.

There is currently a Cackling Goose feeding along west side of the driveway at
Uplands Farm Sanctuary. It is among 36 Canada Goose. Flock is quite
approachable allowing for close viewing.

I viewed a nice looking CACKLING GOOSE in Riverhead this afternoon at about
2:00 PM. The Goose was showing a perfect, white collar around the base of its
neck. It was feeding along the north side of Sound Avenue, just east of the

the majority between 8:00 and 11:00. I missed an immature Bald Eagle
that passed ~8:00, as well as 20+ Northern Harriers. But during my stay
a group of 4 geese flew
