I am seeing a Greater White-fronted Goose on the northeast ball fields of
Randall's Island, south of Field 31 with many Canada Geese. This goose was

About 4 pm this afternoon Christine McClusky spotted a greater white fronted
goose in Kenny's Cove which is the pond just east of Scarborough train station
on Hudson River in ossining/briarcliff manor. I was able to get a good look at

In pond westchester country club, Harrison (now) with approx 125 Canada goose
then up on to grass by pond off Park Drive (off Biltmore). Don't know
accessibility but I drove onto CC property off Park Drive watched for a while

I just realized that this never made it to NYSBIRDS. Some very good
waterfowl was seen today on Staten Island at Arbutus Pond. First Anthony
Ciancimino found a pair of Tundra Swans that were scared away by the
resident pair of Mute Swans before anyone else could get to see them. The

Alex Pirko and I hiked a few miles from Van Cortlandt Park Bronx, into
Westchester in search of a Greater White-fronted that Alex had seen yesterday.
We found the bird at Tibbets Park(near the lake), where it provided excellent
views. We think this is our Van Cortlandt Park bird that just

GWFG seen on Gerry Pond in Rosylyn, LI from 8:40 am until 9am. It was in
the northernmost pond with hundreds of Canada Geese and not easy to find
until it took to the air. It flew up twice for warm-up rounds at which

As of noon today Wed. Jan. 18 2012 the Greater White-fronted Goose was
on the pond at Gerry Park in Roslyn, NY. The goose could be viewed
from the parking lot in the park itself or the municipal lot on Old
Northern Blvd. in downtown Roslyn. The goose was in the Northwest
corner of the pond. Also

Gerry Park in Roslyn, NY (Long Island). It is located at the northern-most
duck pond amongst a flock of Canada Geese.
Other sightings include HOODED MERGANSER, GADWALL, MALLARD, BELTED KINGFISHER

7:30am :Second day in a row I have spotted a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE at
Gerry Park in Roslyn, NY (Long Island). It is located at the northern-most
duck pond amongst a flock of Canada Geese.
Other sightings include HOODED MERGANSER, GADWALL, MALLARD, BELTED KINGFISHER

As of noon today Wed. Jan. 18 2012 the Greater White-fronted Goose was
on the pond at Gerry Park in Roslyn, NY. The goose could be viewed
from the parking lot in the park itself or the municipal lot on Old

At 1:30PM today (01/15), there was an immature Greater White-fronted Goose at
the Hauppauge High School (Suffolk County). It is currently feeding with about
150 Canada Geese on the soccer/lacrosse fields bordering route 111 (Townline
Road) and Lincoln Blvd. Entrance to the high school is from

There is a Greater White-front Goose on the soccer fields with Canadas at
Waverly Elementary north of the LIE east of Nichols road (can been seen
from service road). The woods west of the soccer field also had flocks of
robins and cedar waxwings.

The GWFG was on the lake at Van Cortlandt Park at about 12:30 this afternoon.
Later the bird was grazing on the 14th hole of the golf course and not paying
the golfers any mind. Also had two Snowy Geese with the flock of Canada Geese
on the golf course and three pairs of Hooded Merganzers.
While leading a walk at Van Courtlandt Park in the Bronx, my group were
treated to the *Greater White-fronted Goose* in the fenced off area on the
Parade Grounds. This is the area right across from the Ranger Station. We
wondered if this could be the same GFWG that we had last year at Van
