At about 3pm today there was a Short-eared Owl hunting the dunes and marshes
near Triton Lane along Dune Road in Hampton Bays. A Great Egret was also in the
bayside marsh adjacent to Triton Lane.

Went toward Ponquougue Bridge.
Also quite a few A Oystercatchers and many Tree Swallows.

A short-eared owl was seen in flight at about 5:45 pm at Marine Park today
(February 8). Other birds present at the park included a female northern
pintail, a light-morph rough-legged hawk, a red-shouldered hawk, two
Wilson's snipes, an orange-crowned warbler, two northern harriers (one

The previously reported Short-eared Owl has been seen the past two evenings -
Monday and Tuesday - at the north-end grassy field of the unused western runway
at EPCAL. It was actively hunting at 4:00pm on Monday, and continued until

Today, a Short-eared Owl was observed flying at very casual height above
the tree canopy ~1 km south of the watch platform at Chestnut Ridge
Hawkwatch--just outside Mount Kisco, Region 9. The owl was intensively
harrassed by 2 Common Raven while 2 American Crow waited on the wing

A short-eared owl was seen this evening, heading west and hunting,
between the Town Fishing dock area and Tiana Beach Pavilion. The
