On Saturday morning, the spoonbill was seen by myself and others at the Cold
Spring Harbor town dock. We observed it flying out, heading north toward Long
Island Sound.
At 3:15pm, a spoonbill was discovered in New Canaan, CT. It looks to me like
the same bird.

I checked St. John’s, Cold Spring Harbor park, and the public dock across from
the Harbor Mist between 11:30 and 12:00 today and came up empty.
I checked again on my way out of town around 6:30 and again, no Spoonbill.
There were many more birds feeding at 6:30 in the mudflats across from the
