I roamed Sunken Meadow State Park from 8:30am-12:00pm today.  Overall, it was a good day with lots of activity throughout the park.  The most productive spot seemed to be the area surrounding Field 2 where loads of Song, Swamp, and White-throated sparrows as well as Yellow-rumped Warblers were

The highlights early this morning were a fly-over Cattle Egret and a Pine Siskin at Ft. Tilden. The land bird flight was modest, consisting mostly of Red-winged Blackbird and American Goldfinch. A Lincoln's Sparrow was north of the ball fields at Ft. Tilden. A cooperative Yellow-breasted Chat

Birded in my neighborhood for a couple of hours this morning (7-9). First highlight was an immature BROAD-WINGED HAWK sitting at the top of a dead tree in the northeast corner of the Dyker Beach Golf Course. Over the years I have only seen a couple of Broad-wings along the coast of Brooklyn.

There was a Cattle Egret at Floyd Bennett Field this morning. I saw if fly in and land in the Community Gardens; it soon flew off and was then moving around to several of the fields, feeding. Left Floyd Bennett at around 10:30am and the bird was still present. Heydi Lopes Brooklyn, NY --
