As of 7:40 AM, the Pink-footed Goose was NOT present in the Holtsville soccer
field.
I decided I'd try for it in my way into work. When I arrived, Rob Bate and Rich
Fried were already on the scene working there way through a small flock of
Canada Geese.
Hopefully more recon and routine site
The male Barrow's Goldeneye continued at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge
in Queens this morning, associating with 30+ or so Common Goldeneyes.
I watched it fly out at 7:07 AM, so get there early if you want it.
Best seen from a little past bench 7. A scope is mandatory. The bird
was distant, but
The pink footed goose was not at the park (nor were any other geese) located at
112 and horseblock rd. I didn't see any other geese at the nearby elementary
school, high school or town hall.

WAS present at a bit after 1100 today, at the Medford Athletic Center,
but soccer activities were picking up, and, at around 1130, the whole
contingent took wing, heading west.

2011. If you wish to get your numbers into the 2011 report, don't miss the
3/15/12 deadline. NYSOA is also requesting submission / re-submission of
2009 data by 3/15/12 so that the 2009 report can also be completed. (The

calling and then circled the Trump Plaza and headed south. I'm thinking more
and more my ravens are definately the Co-op City ravens. A coworker lives
there and has always wanted to see bald eagles and ravens so I told

Michael McBrien has just relocated the Pink-footed Goose at the Medford Sports
Complex on Horseblock Road in Medford just west of route 112. We are viewing
the bird now from the north side of Horseblock.

In my E Mail of Feb. 19 I mentioned that I saw a red-necked grebe in the
ocean off the beach. Bob Radamo sent me a diplomatic e-mail, and I double
checked my pictures. Despite what I thought I saw,yellow longer bill,bigger
size, coloration, and the fact that it did not act like a horned
WAS present at a bit after 1100 today, at the Medford Athletic Center,

I want to present an opportunity for discussion and perhaps suggest an
important stewardship opportunity that we all could take to help better
understand or reduce the prevalence of tick borne disease in our environment,
particularly Lyme disease in Suffolk County.
