Today's count of the (mostly Lesser) Scaup flock at Eastport pond was in the
neighborhood of 6,000I found 1 pair of Redhead along with a smattering
of dicky birds.

Highlights:
Montauk Point: Razorbill - 10 and RN Grebe - 1
Gin Beach/East Lake Drive: Iceland Gull - 2 (adult and 3rd Winter)
Otherwise, plenty of Scoter and Eider.

Saw a Snow Goose with about 20 Canada as one approaches the village of
ORIENT,in the field on the south side of the highway. Got pictures too.

Sixty-eight species were reported this week. The most- reported species
were Purple Finch (9 reports), Common Grackle
My directions to the Northern Shrike were not clear enough yesterday because
you have to cross 2 runways. I saw the bird on the eastern side of the main
north-south runway, approximately 300 yards south of the Model Plane stand.
The bird was on top of a tall tree in the brushy area, maybe 30
