[nysbirds-l] western Fly Pic; Queens Notes
For anyone that needs to see more, I've posted a picture of the flycatcher at my web site http://stevewalternature.com/ . On my way back through Queens, I took a spin around Flushing Meadow Lake. No birds of note, but something of interest. At the south end of the lake, there is work in progress, accompanied by a sign saying "Habitat Restoration and Stormwater Treatment at Meadow Lake -- Anticipated Completion: Winter 2006". We'll see what that leads to down the road. It's been a while since there's been a major rarity in my neck of the woods in Queens. For now, the best I can do is a run of the mill rarity -- which means not really rare at all. An uncommon-ty? The most recent is an Orange-crowned Warbler at Douglaston Marsh Saturday. [nysbirds-l] last location of flycatcher in Central Park
Can someone please let me know the last location of the Western Flycatcher that's in Central Park. I'm planning on coming down tomorrow to look for it. I've heard it's around the boathouse, is that still true? Where's this oven people are talking about? Thanks much. Andrew Andrew v. F.
