Highlights: Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Least Flycatcher, 19 Species of Wood
Warblers.
Canada Goose - 5
Gadwall - pair SW Reservoir
Mallard - 5
Ruddy Duck - 3 SW Reservoir
Mourning Dove - 15-20
Chimney Swift - around 15
A bird tour through Hallet Sanctuary in Central Park gave us close looks at:
Canada warbler
Chestnut-sided warbler
Ovenbirds
Common Yellowthroats
Black-throated blue warblers m
Black-throated green warblers
Northern Waterthrush
Black and white warbler -5
Magnolia warblers-3
American Redstarts
Today, I was among the crowd ( ~ 20 coming & going) that feasted on the
impressive image of *Mycteria americana *as it fed along the e/s of
Beaverdam Creek, ~ 100 yards s/o Montauk Highway, at the intersection of
Mill Rd. I was part of a 3 car caravan that was "trolling" for the bird,
after
N.Y. County, including Manhattan, Randall’s & Governors Islands
Tuesday May 4th - & Wednesday May 5th ~viva Cinco de Mayo~
A female-plumaged Blue Grosbeak once again appeared in Central Park, not so far
north of where some previous sightings had been, just east of Turtle Pond on
Wed. 5/5.
Relocated Wood Stork in WH area. Currently being seen by MOB on east side of
Beaverdam Creek at Montauk Hwy, Westhampton. This is slightly west ofOld
Country Rd the north and Mill Rd to the south. Very near Casa Baso Reataurant
- but DO NOT PARK THERE. Originally found at reported spot
Eileen Schwinn confirms this a reasonable guide to the location of today’s
sighting:

Still present at 5:35, preening on a dock just across creek. Seen from
shoulder of Montauk Hwy just south of intersection with Old Country Rd.
