Had the Northern Lapwing in Storrs, CT at around 3:30pm today. It was out of
view, but about 10 minutes after I got there it was flushed (unfortunately) by
some birders. Would've liked to had longer looks but atleast got nice views of
it circling and flying. Very nice state bird. Who would'v

This morning the ocean in East Hampton held several *Red-Throated Loons*.
On Hook Pond were *Hooded Mergansers*, 1 *Belted Kingfishe*r and on dry
land nearby was a *Ring-necked Pheasant*. *Ruddy Ducks* were spotted off of
Cobb Isle Rd. in Water Mill and S*urf Scoters* were in small numbers at the
Della, Carol Weiss, and I searched for the Orchard Beach Barnacle Goose from
about 9:45 AM to 1 PM today (11/28/2010) without success. Did find two Monk
Parakeets in the crab apple trees along the grassy area south of the main
parking lot (40.866842, -73.795802).

I would like to know if the Bernacle Goose has been seen today (Sunday,
November 28) ? We went to Orchard Beach yesterday (from 12:00 to 3:00PM) but we
could not locate the bird among the several groups of Canada Geese that were on
the grass areas near the main parking (first road to the right b

I witnessed a nice movement of land birds from the hawk watch at Robert
Moses State Park today in a light northerly wind. I began at 6:40 AM and
ended at 7:20 AM. Numbers are below.
