I was surprised this morning to find 5 shorebird species feeding in a fairly
small re-charge basin, just n/o the traffic circle, at the confluence of Middle
Rd. and Osborne & Horton Avenues, in Riverhead, Suffolk Co. There were single:
Killdeer; Greater Yellowlegs; Lesser Yellowlegs; FOS
This evening I visited the Lower Peconic Fishing Station in Riverhead
(across from Snowflake Ice Cream) with the primary goal of photographing
Eastern Kingbirds. While I was doing this I photographed a Black and White
Warbler (my first) which perched 20 feet from me for a few moments. Birds

WARBLER that I first found around 9:30 AM calling high in a deciduous tree
