It was a great day for us up by Lake Ontario in western Niagara County
today. This evening we added our 24th and last species of warbler for the
day, a NASHVILLE WARBLER, bathing in our pond. Earlier in the day, we
thought we had chalked up our 24th warbler. Driving slowly with windows

Yesterday (21 May 2011), John Shemilt, Keegan Corcoran and I went
fishing/birding off eastern Long Island, traveling out to the shelf edge and
from there to the outer portion of Block Canyon. It was extremely foggy

I decided to leave the county for the day (really?) and bird Ulster and Orange
counties. The Bashakill has been flooded for days and access has been very
limited. I first went to Blue Chip Farms to spruce up my Ulst

The male Kentucky Warbler was present and singing his heart out this morning at
Rockefeller State Preserve from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. It was located in the same
area as previously reported, on Ash Tree Loop by the connector to Sleepy Hollow
Road Trail. It was a beautiful bird, but very sluggish and
this past friday morning (7:15am) , an american golden plover flew overhead, calling, as i entered my workplace in downtown port chester, westchester county, ny. the bird was headed up the coast as i watched it fly over the byram river into greenwich,ct. JPA John Askildsen Millbrook, New York
