The Sora in Bryant Park was first seen on Friday afternoon, not Thursday.

afternoon. Please have a look and let me know what you think. I'm wondering
about its age: hatch year or first summer one-year-old bird? Is it possible
to sex it?

Hi All,
To my knowledge, the Lark Sparrow was not seen today, but Tom Perlman
found a Vesper Sparrow ~10am, just north of the compost area. Knowing
I was in the park, he emailed me, so I sent out a text alert to
NYNYBIRD then headed over there. He and I saw the bird again ~10:30
for maybe 30 seco
She is now sitting on Donnelly's Pier and facing all of us standing in the
tower.

Today a Sora was reported along the same stretch of lake edge in Prospect Park
as the previous week. Must be something in the water…

On the City Island Birds walk today, we were treated to close looks of both
adult and juvenile Red Headed Woodpeckers. Our group was splintered along the
trail at one point during the walk, with approximately 7 people in each group.
We believe there are two juveniles, since both groups were view
