Just wanted to shoot a quick update on the PHALAROPE ;-) in Shirley for those
interested...
It was seen this afternoon/evening by a handful of birders. When you park in
the SE corner of the marina parking lot, walk straight up the path/dirt road to

My apologies! The bird is in fact a Wilson's PHALAROPE. I guess I'm still stuck
on the WIPL from earlier in the season.

My Piping Plover crew leader told me of a potential Wilson's Plover in the
impoundments at Shirley Marina County Park from a walk last night with her dog
in the area, and it was verified today by another fellow birder.
I believe you are supposed to have a permit (~$15 for the season)
I don't think I saw this posted by any of our NY eBird reviewers as yet.
Cornell has posted new guidelines on embedding photos in eBird checklists
using Flickr. This is to keep up with changes recently implemented by
Flickr.
