Maintaining a search at City Hall Park and possibly expanding it might be
useful. A block south and a bit west is St. Paul's Chapel and a block west
of the chapel is the World Trade Center Memorial with 400+ Swamp White Oaks
where I've seen pewee and phoebe foraging west of the South Pool. The area
We started the morning birding the north side of the Point from the restaurant.
There were low numbers of scoters and eiders on the north side but good numbers
of Red-throated Loons and Bonaparte’s Gulls. The highlight of the mornings
birding at Montauk Pt. was a first winter Little Gull feeding
I was just sent a photo of the tanager and it is indeed a Western Tanager.
