Wood Duck - 5 (2 male, 3 female) Turtle Pond (Andrea Hessel)
Northern Shoveler - 14 (12 Turtle

Northern Shoveler - 14 (12 Turtle
Didn’t luck out with last week’s raptor parade (only a lone Peregrine, Merlin
and Coopers) - just off shore where huge flocks of Black Scoter heading east
and plenty of dive bombing Northern Gannets making use of the breaking
afternoon sunlight. The dunes and grasses were teaming with

Joe Giunta and I(Sy Schiff) started at Jones Beach West End #2 and found the
LARK SPARROW on the grass at the mid lot exit. On the east side of the
building to the south we found the reported VESPER SPARROW. Sparrows were

The wheatear continues at the median across from the new cottages. Drive down
past the famous shorebird puddle lots until you see a huge horde of assembled
birders.
