There is an immature male Summer Tanager coming to the suet feeders of Mrs.
Fran Colby in Spencerport. She is willing to have people visit in the event
that this bird remains after this coming storm. If you would like to watch
an inordinate amout of time swimming.
The Avocet is in the SW end of the harbor with parking and good viewing off the
Conservation Club.grounds.

I decided to investigate Benjamin's findings. Instead of ideal conditions, I
had fog then rain at Playland then the Read Sanctuary on Monday. I arrived very
late in the day Sunday but despite the lateness saw a single Mute Swan in the
Marsh and a Bald Eagle very late off the Wall. So NO Scoters
Following Dick Rosche's report yesterday of a Surf Scoter at the Batavia Waste
Water Treatment Plant (his first ever in Genesee county), I was there before
8AM and the gates were open. The hen Surf Scoter was in the 3rd pond next to
the RR tracks as you come out of the tunnel. I had just scoped
I arrived at the Wilson East Pier about 6PM Thursday and no Eiders but two
fishermen on the East Pier. I scoped the channel then the lake to no avail. I
saw the big sign that said NO RUNNING ON THE PIER (just joking) so I walked
then scoped the lake and finally saw the hen King Eider in the
Tuesday afternoon I visited the Tower on Winspear Avenue and noted 3 Falcons
lounging in the nest box on the side facing the Veteran's Administration
Hospital. Although in the vicinity, I did not check the falcon nest boxes at
the Central Terminal nor the Statler. In prior years, there was

afternoon. He kindly pointed it out to me. Good thing, I was sort of expecting
breeding plumage and the Ruff was well into transition to alternate plumage but

pleasure was received by seeing thousands of Snow Geese at one time in the sky
(several times) not to mention seeing the relative rarity Ross' Goose (finally
