I visited Connetquot River State Park this morning, hoping the previously reported RED-NECKED GREBE had stuck around--luckily it had. I spotted it rather quickly, ~100' out on the river north of the mill. After I had observed it for a while, as it swam actively and dove a couple of times, I

Alisa Randolfi and I visited Connetquot River SP on 14 July seeking to fill in some gaps in Alisa's NYS list (she's visiting from FL). Among the usual denizens we found several more notable species, the most unusual being a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, probably my first ever during summer on
