Hi All,
Yes, I did see the selasphorus hummer this morning shortly after the
conservatory gardens opened at 8am; it was feeding at the extreme north end
of the north garden, then flew over the north fence towards the Meer. I
texted the sighting to NYNYBIRD text alert, then had to rush to work.
Hello:
Has anyone compiled a list of birds from out of the area that were brought
in by Hurricane Sandy? If so, can you point me to it, or if there is no
list, make suggestions as to what might be on the list?
Cheers,
Richard Tkachuck

The VIWA was seen between 10:40-10:55 around and in the west side of the kettle
hole it was last seen on Monday.
Fifth times the charm...about 11 hours total search time... Goes without saying
this can be a difficult bird to find.
Good luck if you haven't seen it yet,

Forgot to credit Andy Guthrie for re-finding the bird. Thanks Andy!

I am in the parking lot for Kirk Beach, across from Kirk Park, Montauk, where I
have been watching 3 White-winged Crossbills for 45 minutes. They fly off then
return to the pine trees bordering the lot. A Red-breasted Nuthatch too.
This is the small parking lot opposite the IGA on the south
