Joe Giunta and I (Sy Schiff) birded the beaches. Today was Sparrow day, hundreds if not thousands. They covered the lawns everywhere. Starting at Robert Moses SP field #5. we walked along the road to the Hawk watch platform scattering the sparrows. Almost all were White-throated Sparrows with

An earlier attempt to post this seems not to have gotten through; apologies for the repeat if it finally does. Joan Quinlan found an Ash-throated Flycatcher here earlier today. Shai Mitra was able to refind the bird around 4PM in the scrub between Field 6 and the defunct pool building. At a
