Holly was my wife, best friend and always patient field guide. Over the
past few years, I have met so many of you out in the field and heard so
many wonderful stories about even more of you and I am so grateful to
this community for being such a warm and welcoming group.

I remember the first time Holly took me birding shortly after we met.
She asked if I would go with her, and I said sure, I'll go for a walk in
the woods and you can look for anything you want. even after that first
trip, with a funky old pair of Sears binoculars I found in the attic, I
was hooked but I still didn't know how big a part of our life it would
become.

Holly was troubled and sometimes it would be hard to get her out, but
birding was a refuge for her and no matter how bad a day started out any
day we spent in the field ended as one of the good days.

While we all know that we are out there for the birds, it wouldn't be
nearly as much fun without this community to share it with. So it's
from the bottom of my heart that I thank all of you, the ones we have
met personally, and all of those that made it a good day by getting us
on a great bird, thanks for being there for Holly!

See you in the field,
Phillip Wilson-Camhi

2017-11-09 Thread Andrew Baksh
I am still in disbelief days after learning about Holly. I will always remember
her radiant smile and spirited ways during the days of sharing a Margarita at
Cupsogue.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire family on such a tragic loss. Holly was
a sweet, spirited soul who will be missed.

This has been hard to process.
