Mas S = ah/2, sendo h a altura relativa ao lado de medida a. Assim, r = ah/3a = h/3, ou seja, o incentro está a 1/3 da altura de distância do lado de medida a. Mas o baricentro também está a essa mesma altura, porque divide a mediana na razão 2:1. Isso quer dizer que a reta que liga o baricentro e o incentro é paralela ao lado de medida a.
