Sudiro mengaku, Telkom tidak menargetkan kapan kesepakatan harus tercapai. Selain itu, bentuknya belum disepakati: apakah akuisisi atau merger. Toh, Telkom masih membuka diri untuk merger dengan operator telekomunikasi lainnya. Pengakuan Sudiro itu hanya mempertegas kabar yang berkembang selama ini. Sebelumnya, sumber *KONTAN *pernah membisikkan Telkom dan BTEL terlibat pembicaraan untuk menggabungkan bisnis telepon CDMA-nya. Tujuannya, mengurangi beban biaya operasional kedua perusahaan. Maklum, setiap operator telepon berbasis CDMA bisa beroperasi efisien jika memiliki 25 juta pelanggan. Asal tahu saja, Flexi menargetkan memiliki sekitar 13 juta pelanggan hingga akhir tahun ini. Sedangkan Esia optimistis mengoleksi 10 juta pelanggan. Nah, kabarnya, yang masih mengganjal adalah bentuk penggabungan kedua usaha itu. Skenario akuisisi sulit terjadi lantaran masing-masing pihak ingin menjadi pengendali. Tapi kemungkinan Telkom mau minoritas dengan kepemilikan 49 persen saham, kata sumber tadi. Sedangkan Kepala Riset Financorpindo Nusa, Edwin Sebayang berpendapat, sebaiknya TLKM menguasai saham mayoritas pada gabungan dua bisnis itu. Bila jadi pemilik minoritas, tentu sulit bagi Telkom menentukan arah dan kebijakan anak usaha tersebut. Nama besar Grup Bakrie di belakang BTEL, tidak serta merta menjadi jaminan seluruh kebutuhan pendanaan perusahaan gabungan itu kelak akan terpenuhi. Apalagi saat ini bisnis telekomunikasi memerlukan dana yang tidak sedikit untuk menyediakan infrastrukturnya, imbuh Edwin. * Capex 2 miliar dollar AS* Dalam kesempatan yang sama, Sudiro menyatakan, bisnis seluler masih memberikan kontribusi terbesar terhadap pendapatan TLKM di kuartal ketiga 2009. Anak usahanya, PT Telkomsel diharapkan membukukan pertumbuhan pendapatan tahun ini sekitar 9 persen-10 persen dibandingkan 2008. Karena pelanggan seluler tumbuh 32 persen, imbuhnya. Sedangkan anggaran belanja modal (capex) TLKM tahun depan sebesar 2 miliar dollar AS. Sebanyak 70 persen dialokasikan untuk Telkomsel dan sisanya buat Grup Telkom. Kamis, 26/11/2009 18:32 WIB Dubai World Gagal Bayar, Bursa Eropa Terguncang Nurul Qomariyah : detikFinance detikcom - Dubai, Dubai World secara mengejutkan mengumumkan kondisi gagal bayar atas sebagian obligasinya yang jatuh tempo. Langkah tersebut langsung menimbulkan guncangan di Bursa Eropa. Dubai World ingin meminta kepada seluruh penyedia pembiayaan Dubai World dan Nakheel untuk 'standstill' (kondisi tidak membayar utang) dan memperpanjang jatuh tempo menjadi paling tidak 30 Mei 2010, ujar pemerintah Dubai dalam pernyataannya seperti dikutip dari Reuters, Kamis (26/11/2009). Nakheel, anak usaha Dubai World tercatat memiliki obligasi syariah US$ 3,5 miliar yang jatuh tempo pada 14 Desember dan utang lain senilai US$ 980 juta yang jatuh tempo 13 Mei 2010. Nakheel yang merupakan pengembang properti terkemuka itu sempat menjadi raja ketika terjadi booming konstruksi. Limitless, pengembang yang juga anak usaha Dubai World lainnya tercatat memiliki utang obligasi syariah senilai US$ 1,2 miliar yang jatuh tempo pada 31 Maret 2010. Dubai World tercatat memiliki kewajiban hingga US$ 59 miliar, atau menguasai sebagian besar dari total utang Dubai yang mencapai US$ 80 miliar. Pemerintah Dubai mengumumkan telah menunjuk konsultan Deloitte untuk membantu restrukturisasi utang obligasi tersebut. Pengumuman tersebut langsung mengguncang pasar finansial global, bahkan bursa Eropa langsung berguguran. Bursa Prancis bahkan langsung merosot hingga 2,06% ke level 3.730,62 pada awal perdagangan Kamis. Bursa Eropa juga tertekan oleh terus merosotnya dolar AS. Pelemahan dolar telah menyebabkan bursa Asia merosot, dan menyeret Bursa Eropa. Gagal bayar sebagian utang Dubai telah memberikan rasa tidak nyaman dan krisis kepercayaan pada saat yang sama ketika muncul kekhawatiran memuncaknya jumlah utang publik, ujar Xavier de Villepion, analis dari Global Equities seperti dikutip dari AFP. Meski pengumuman gagal bayar itu dilakukan setelah penurupan pasar saham Dubai menjelang libur panjang, namun nilai obligasi Nakheel tahun 2009 merosot hingga 27 persen. Hal terakhir yang akan kita lihat adalah efek domino yang menyebabkan sejumlah kewajiban utang harus diperpanjang, jelas sebuah bank tentang pernyataan Dubai tersebut. Keputusan untuk menjadwal ulang utang Dubai World mengecewakan. Sepertinya hal ini akan diterima dengan buruk oleh pasar. Pasar menjadi tidak nyaman dengan posisi utang Dubai sejak kuartal I-2009. Menerapkan praktek GCG secara baik dan accountable b. Setiap CA harus productive dan efficient serta menguntungkan minority/public share holders c. Berusaha sebaik-baiknya untuk memunculkan trust dari pasar d. Berpegang teguh pada code of conduct. e. Mengutamakan profesionalisme, kompetensi dan performance ketimbang maju dan berhasil karena dukungan politis. Jadi faktor apa lagi yg menentukan nilai suatu mata uang: - Suku bunga, bertambah tinggi suku bunga yg ditawarkan, bertambah kuat mata uang tsb. - Inflasi, bertambah besar angka inflasi suatu negara maka makin turun nilai mata uangnya, agar orang mau pegang terpaksa negara menawarkan suku bunga yg tinggi untuk menutupi inflasi. - Cadangan devisa, utang antar negara harus disettle dengan menggunakan cadangan devisa, jika cadangan devisanya kecil maka resiko tidak bisa bayar besar (bangkrut secara moneter). - Cadangan devisa ditentukan oleh selisih export dan import, Foreign investment dan kebalikannya, pelarian modal dan kebalikannya - Kemampuan bayar suatu negara tentunya tergantung pada selisih penerimaan negara dikurangi pengeluaran negara, kalo penerimaan negara besar tentunya uang dan obligasi suatu negara diminati pasar. - Country Risk, kalo resiko politik suatu negara besar, tentunya nilai mata uang nya lemah dan market meminta rate yg premium. - Contry profile, kalo suatu negara atau pemerintahan suka ngemplang, nunda bayar utang, sering minta rescheduling, tentunya pasar meminta rate tambahan untuk mengcover resiko dikemplang. - dll Jadi ada banyak faktor yg menentukan nilai mata uang, nah sekarang faktor apa yg membuat dollar masih dipegang orang meskipun orang bilang dollar mau ke goceng ?. Perhaps we need to agree on future, is this inflationary is happening in US or contrary their currency is devaluating? I guess, both is ongoing. Inflation is the future threat of what US peoples is most worrying about. While it is ongoing where US dollar is devaluating to other currencies. There should be a trade off which we don't know what's gonna happen. Look at China, they have also problems with over capacity which will lead to deflation but in the other hand they are very sensitive on commodities fluctuation which will trigger to inflation. Confuse, right? Then it does make sense where China is also curbing both (Commodities inflation and US dollar deflation) by diversing their reserve, at least for my perspective of thinking. I believe what peoples wiat is how US government will end the stimulus and their method take out the liquidity from the market. Once they increase the interest rate, stock and market will negatively react. And once it happen, as you aware, the US dollar will increase their value which other currency should follow (to increase interest rate) as well. You can imagine if accross the universe is raising their interest rate from one to another place . That's the comment from newbie too...Doesn't answer your question. Fool me... For Barrick, which expects gold prices to keep rising, the deal should remove what has been a big drag on its shares, the legacy of the company's past reliance on hedging, a practice it abandoned in 2003. During times of weak prices, gold miners often sell a portion of their future production to protect, or hedge, against the possibility that prices will fall. When prices rise, as they have done since 2001, the company suffers because value of the future production they've sold does not increase with the gold price. It's long overdue, John Ing, president of Toronto investment dealer Maison Placements, said of the move. In the bear market, (hedging) saved a lot of people, but in the bull market it just added supply to the market ... it was the original derivative. Barrick took a $557 million charge to buy out its production hedge book two years ago, and has faced repeated questions from analysts and shareholders since then about its plans for the remaining 9.5 million ounces it had hedged to finance projects. The gold hedge book has been a particular concern among our shareholders and the broader market, which we believe has obscured the many positive developments within the company, Barrick Chief Executive Aaron Regent said in a statement. Barrick will spend $1.9 billion to eliminate all of its fixed-price gold contracts -- on which the company effectively lost money every time the gold price rose -- by buying gold on the open market and delivering it into the contracts. It will also pay $1 billion to eliminate some of its floating spot price contracts -- the liability on which does not change with fluctuations in the price of gold -- leaving about $2.7 billion of floating hedges on the books. However, its decision to pay down part of the hedge position means it will have to take an accounting loss on the full $5.6 billion worth of the liability. After the deal, the company will eliminate the remaining floating hedges when more attractive sources of debt capital are available. REMOVES ALBATROSS The bought deal, which comes on a day gold topped $1,000 an ounce -- is one of the largest ever in Canada, eclipsing a C$2 billion deal by Royal Bank of Canada (RY.TO http://www.reuters.com/finance/stocks/overview?symbol=RY.TO) in November 2008.
