I doctored up octave-gsl gsl-1.0.4 to include hyperg_1F1 (KummerM) and hyperg_U (KummerU) from gsl. I only implemented these particular items and the associated tests. The port passes the tests. It is available for comments and trials at > http://www.plaidheron.com/ray/temp/gsl-1.0.4.a.tar.bz2
