Another workaround (hackish, but works) is to spawn a new copy of the NPC
offscreen, use it, then delete it. Takes care of all your problems.

Fix bug 439. However, it looks like the npc turning-back-to-original-direction
code is a bit fragile when other npcs/textboxes are activated while an npc is
in use.
