Currently these files contain only abf-downloads and this is not good,
long time ago we came into agreement not to use abf-downloads as a
mirror for ordinary users.

Could you update content of that files and use some other mirror instead
of abf-downloads? E.g., yandex or Polish mirrors. Using of
mirror.rosalinux.com is not desired, since it shares internet connection
with ABF.

BTW if you already know how is interpreted time file by mirmon, excuse
me :) I explain this just in case (I did not know myslef how it works
few months ago :)

The fact is that this file is grabbed from the master mirror to the
other mirrors, but mirmon don't know where is the master mirror.
Imagine there is no package publishing during 10 hours, the timestamp
would be 10hours old, and if a slave mirror is updated each 8 hour, it
could be marked as 18 hour later.

The problem with irregular time files is that it's difficult to know
how often slave mirrors are updated.

For now, mirmon check routine is launched three minutes after the time
file is generated on ibiblio, this way, we can have a quite good
estimation of the update rate of each servers:

http://downloads.openmandriva.org/mm/

It's why I'm really in favour of a simple hourly task :p

In some sense yes. Iirc, Poland mirror is synced with yandex, not with
ibiblio, so it does provide omv2013.0 repositories.

So users of omv2013.0 can use either yandex or icm.edu.pl to get the

ibiblio mirrors. I think this should be fixed and openmandriva2013.0 and
openmandriva2014.0 folders should be synced to ibiblio, as well.

 Is that what you asked?

In some sense yes. Iirc, Poland mirror is synced with yandex, not
with ibiblio, so it does provide omv2013.0 repositories.

So users of omv2013.0 can use either yandex or icm.edu.pl
http://icm.edu.pl to get the updates (and other mirrors synced
with yandex or abf directly), but not the ibiblio mirrors. I think
this should be fixed and openmandriva2013.0 and openmandriva2014.0
folders should be synced to ibiblio, as well.

For ROSA, the process is like the following - we provide admins of

For the existing images, I think we will just copy them from ibiblio:)

Re: [OM Cooker] Mirrors

2014-02-10 Thread Raphaël Jadot
I

Time stamp is not used to know since how long the repos has been
updated, but what is the time difference between now and the time file
that can be read on the mirrors.

WDYT?

Denis, an about the TIME file for MirMon, is it possible to add

 perl -e 'print time, \n' /path/to/openmandriva/TIME

in crontab.hourly? (so that the TIME file is reachable at the root of
 openmandriva mirror, ie ftp://mirror.yandex.ru/openmandriva/ )

[OM Cooker] Mirrors

2014-02-05 Thread Raphaël Jadot
Hi,

This email is mainly for Workshop ml, but maybe some Cooker member would
like to comment

We'll have to rework our set of mirrors. During FOSDEM, we have discussed
with Denis about the fact it would be a good solution to use a mirror close
to ABF as the first mirror (not listed in MirMon), with a script that would
be able to change the scheme of the iso names.

The steps would be then:

- Configure the first mirror with the ABF import script. We need also to
add this in crontab hourly:

perl -e 'print time, \n' /path/to/OMLxRoot/TIME

for MirMon. @Rosa people, do you prefer to take care of it or to give us an
ssh access?

- Synchronize first ibiblio (because all other mirrors are synced to
ibiblio) to the first mirror

- Then try to configure all mirrors when we have acces to them (including
changing name unity to openmandriva

WDYT?

Raphaël

Yes, we will take care of this.

One more question from my other mail which was left unanswered (likely
due to bad wording:)) - if I understand correctly, you only have iso
images for openmandriva releases at ibiblio and other mirrors, not the
repositories? Since in the unity folder, I can only see the cooker
repos, not openmandriva2013.0 or openmandriva2014.0.

So I wonder from what servers do OMV users get the updates? And do they
really get these updates, if any?:)
