I Time stamp is not used to know since how long the repos has been updated, but what is the time difference between now and the time file that can be read on the mirrors.
BTW if you already know how is interpreted time file by mirmon, excuse me :) I explain this just in case (I did not know myslef how it works few months ago :) The fact is that this file is grabbed from the master mirror to the other mirrors, but mirmon don't know where is the master mirror. Imagine there is no package publishing during 10 hours, the timestamp would be 10hours old, and if a slave mirror is updated each 8 hour, it could be marked as 18 hour later. The problem with irregular time files is that it's difficult to know how often slave mirrors are updated. For now, mirmon check routine is launched three minutes after the time file is generated on ibiblio, this way, we can have a quite good estimation of the update rate of each servers: http://downloads.openmandriva.org/mm/ It's why I'm really in favour of a simple hourly task :p WDYT?
