Re: [onap-discuss] vFW Demo Stack Create Fails with ""Message: No valid host was found. There are not enough hosts available., Code: 500""

2017-11-23 Thread Arun Arora (c)
Hi Brian,

Figured out the issue. Looks like when giving public net id in vFW env file,
this issue comes.
I used internal network id instead and with it all 3 VMs are created and the VF
module stack creation succeeds.
I then have to assign floating IP to 3 VMs manually though.

That said, still need to characterize the issue as a genuine bug or some local
setup issue.

But importantly, passed step 5 of 6 :-)

Thanks,
Arun

I’ve only run into that when the Hosting platform didnt have enough memory or
other resource (sometimes ports ) you’ll have to look at errors on the VMware
side. Dont know if Marco or Kang have run into this particular message before.

Did debugmso.log in the VnfAdapter directory have any more details or was it
the same No valid host was found message ?

We have enough resources for the 3 VMs created as part of vFW demo. However,
still receiving the following errors:

Hi Yang, Gaurav,

I think MSB is hosted in the OPEN-O VM.

Take a look at these two scripts in the demo gerrit reop:

demo\heat\ONAP\onap_openstack.yaml line 1576

./openo_install.sh

demo\boot\openo_install.sh line line 58

curl -k $NEXUS_REPO/org.onap.demo/boot/$ARTIFACTS_VERSION/msb_vm_init.sh -o
/opt/msb_vm_init.sh

demo\boot\openo_all_serv.sh line 3

bash /opt/msb_vm_init.sh &>/dev/null

MSB docker is spup up in this script: demo\boot\msb_vm_init.sh

[onap-discuss] Issue with quota in OPEN-LAB bringing up 64g VM in Integration tenant

2017-11-23 Thread Michael O'Brien
Helen,
Hi, I am also having trouble bringing up a VM in OPEN-LAB - the global quota
is way under (314/1800 for integration for example) - but no actual compute
host can take on 64g - the only one close is compute-01: (RamFilter)
Insufficient usable RAM: req:65536, avail:40745.0 MB

It looks like the individual compute hosts are all saturated with none under
the 64g free limit.
Therefore even though global quota shows 216G of 500G free in OOM and 314G
of 1800g free in integration - we are limited by the individual compute nodes.

For now, I am able to bring up an m1.xlarge/m3.xlarge 16g VM as expected but
64g will be required for an OOM instance and part of our HEAT deployment to do
R1 testing and CD deployments in prep of Kubecon 4th Dec and 11 dec F2F.
I understand one of the zones went down and we may be back to 2500-3000g
soon - I'll watch the quota

Subject: vFW Demo Stack Create Fails with ""Message: No valid host was found.
There are not enough hosts available., Code: 500""

Hi All,

We are working to bring up the vFW demo on VIO 4.0. For that we run demo.sh
init from robot VM and then service instantiation is done from VID.
We have reached a point where MSO sends the Heat Request to VIO for Demo Stack
creation, however each time the stack creation fails with error ""Message: No
valid host was found. There are not enough hosts available., Code: 500""

We have enough resources for the 3 VMs created as part of vFW demo. However,
still receiving the following errors:

I see that other resources creation is OK but the VMs creation fail. Attaching
the topology snapshot for reference.

Has anyone seen this issue in your setup? Ayn pointers to fix this are highly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Arun

Re: [onap-discuss] [E] Re: VVP-devkit : Problem

2017-11-23 Thread Moshe Hoadley
Hi
Ansible is failing with ssh to localhost.
After investigation, I found that ansible uses the user 'vagrant' to ssh to
localhost. However, the user on localhost is my own username ('devel').
Could you please check it out?
Am I missing something? Should I have created a user called 'vagrant' in my dev
mchine?

Thanks

Good Day!

Karthik works in my team and we are from Verizon. We are currently
exploring VVP in isolated lab, which isn't connected to our corporate network.
Hence he would be using gmail to clarify his queries. Thanks for your help &

I’ll be glad if you can share in a couple of words who you are and from
what company, just so we all get to know each other ☺

I’m Edan Binshtok from AT and I was one of the original developer which
seeded the code.

Looks like a bad network issue.

  1. Can you check there isn’t a problematic network adapter in virtualbox
?

  2. Did you add the “# 10.252.0.12
coreos-01.development.vvp.example.com”
 to your known hosts?

Hi Edan -

I have "kubeconifg" file only under this folder:
./devkit/ansible/roles/ansible-vvp-bootstrap/templates/kubeconfig.j2

I do not have "./zones/k8/kubeconfig" folder as well in my latest repo that I
pulled yesterday

Thanks

Subject: [onap-discuss] Questions on the ONAP R2+ Resource IM

Dear Jimmy, Andy and
Kevin,

As discussed in the modeling call, there’re several questions regarding the
resource IM that need to be answered. Please find them below:

   To Andy & Kevin,

1)Regarding the design time model (the figure shows the relationship
between ServiceDesc, ServiceComponentDesc, ResourceCatalogItem, VNFDesc and
VNFCDesc), the AID document states that "a service component has a zero to many
relationship to service while the vnf component has is related to exactly one
vnf". What's the case for a service component to have zero relationship to
service? Does it imply that a service component can exist alone (without being
involved in a service) in design time?

[AJM] Service Component Descriptors may exist independently from the Service
Descriptor since they may be created as “building blocks” representing specific
types of service functionality (e.g., firewall functionality) used to construct
Service Descriptors. Also, a Service Component Descriptor may be employed by
for than one Service Descriptor. For VNFC Descriptors, the VNFC Descriptor is
dependent on the containing VNF Descriptor for its existence, and the VNFC
Descriptor is not shared across VNF Descriptors.

2)Regarding the vNF deployment diagram figure (the run time model):

a) It seems it’s not updated like the design time model, do you have any
plan to align it to the design time model?

[AJM] We are currently updating the Run-Time diagram to align.

b) For the current figure, we want to know the answers for:

   i. What's the relationship between VNFC
instance and VNF module? What's the usage of VNF module?

ii. Why does network only associate with the
VM, but not with Docker/LXC? Why is the cardinality 1:1?

iii. Why does storage have no association
with VNFC instance?

iv. Why does VNFImage have 1:1 association
with VNF instance, instead of VNFC instance?

  v. No model for network port?

To Jimmy,

First thank you and Pamela for the comments you provided last time, I
updated several questions afterwards, shown below:

1)Is the orchestration-status of the VNFC similar to the vnfcState defined
in ETSI? (vnfcState describes the state of a VNFC instance, possible values
are: STARTED, STOPPED. STARTED means the VNFC instance is up and running, and
STOPPED means the VNFC instance has been shut down (but not
terminated/deleted). Similar to the VM power on/off concept)

2)Please clarify more on the operational-status of VNF, are the valid
values “in-service-path” and “out-of-service-path”? and what do they mean?

3)Orchestration-status of the VNF is also not clear to us, could you
elaborate more on the usage of it? For example, the valid values?

Thank you all for the help!

Best regards,

Xu
