Hi Rahul,I am glad it helped. You have correctly identified where to
replace the AAI part of the AAF-certificates (you also have to do it in this
project oom/kubernetes/aai/charts/aai-resources), but you also need to replace
the certificate in the AAF project - I never did this, so I am unable to help
you further. I heard there is a tool for generating the certificates and the
appropriate property files (I don’t know any specifics), you probably should
use that. You can reach out to Jonathan Gathman, it won’t be a problem for him
to tell you how to do it as he is the author of AAF and he created all the
certificates for ONAP projects :)Br,Pavel On Sun, 18 Nov 2018 18:28:31

2018-11-17 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hey Rahul, you are going in the right direction (somewhat). If you
want to disable AAF in AAI you have to go to values.yaml in the AAI chart and
replace the word aaf-auth with one-way-ssl as shown in this commit
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/gitweb?p=oom.git;a=commitdiff;h=b6b6adcc92a531e391b11fb6d27124e5d0c0af56I
am not sure if your aim is to have AAF disabled though. Having a different
namespace than “onap” was causing authentication problems (I don’t know if this
is still the case) because AAF certs are bound to that name (namespace is part
of the aaf hostname).Changing any settings means you are not on the happy path,
I recommend trying first with default values.BrPavel On Sat, 17 Nov 2018

/opt/app/aai-traversal/logs/rest/sane.log or metrics.log, I found the following
log printed again and again:   "02:03:43.701 [qtp959869407-48] INFO
org.onap.aai.config.aaf.AafFilter - User does not have permissions to run the
query". Not sure why AafFilter class is invoked even though aaf is disabled?
I drilled down further at the code and saw that AafFilter uses CadiFilter.
Looking at cadi.properties (@/opt/app/aai-traversal/resources), it refers
AAF_LOCATE_URL and AAF_NS but I don't see these variables present in the
container's environment. Possible that I am going in an incorrect direction.Do
we need to change anything in the AAI charts/configs (other than what I
mentioned above), if we use a different namespace, nodePortPrefix or Persistent
mountPath? Any pointers would be helpful.Thank you!Regards,Rahul

[onap-discuss] A schema model visualization tool

2018-11-02 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi all,

we would like to continue working on the A model (schema)
visualization tool because the AAI model (schema) is complex and is
subject to change.

In order to gather requirements for the tool I reach out to the
community for feedback. If anyone works/worked with the A model
(schema) and is willing to share his experience I would be glad to talk
to him/her. This experience would in turn be used as valuable input for
our requirements. Any experience and/or thoughts are highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Pavel

Hi Jimmy & the AAI team,

When I log in to the open lab and go to the
Integration-OOM-Staging-Daily tenant. I found something interesting
but weird.

I used "kubectl get services" to query the IP address of the AAI
service, and the address returned is like the following:

image.png
But when I query the AAI nodes that are registered to MSB, a different
IP is returned:

image.png
Since I could get the service information from MSB, I assume that AAI
has been successfully registered to MSB. Then I try to query something
from AAI via MSB:

image.png
You can see that we got nothing but an error.

Then I try to get some information by calling the same API using the
IP address of the service node returned by MSB:

image.png
A different error occurred.

Finally, I used the IP address returned by "kubectl get services" to
call the same API directly:

image.png
From the screenshot above, you could see that if we call AAI APIs
directly via it's IP address, everything's OK.

The same thing happened in other tenants. I mean, the registered IP
address of AAI in MSB isn't reachable, which results in a failure when
we try to call the APIs via MSB.

This is now stopping the Holmes team from further integration tests.

Could you please take a dive into it and give us some feedback? The
inner logic for AAI query in Holmes is that once Holmes found that AAI
is registered to MSB, it will never call the AAI APIs directly.
Instead, it always tries to call AAI APIs via MSB.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Guangrong

Re: [onap-discuss] Non-functional requirement proposal for Dublin: Adopting ONAP Normative Base Images

2018-10-23 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi all,

I think that is a good idea. Deployment resource consumption was an
issue for my company as well.

Do you think it would make sense to support 2 types of deployments in
each ONAP project:

1. full (normal) deployment,

2. barebones deployment.

The point of the "barebone" deployment would be to deploy only the
essential services necessary for proper functioning of that particular
service. For example:

- leaving out redundant services (necessary for H/A)

- leaving out web services that have not yet been integrated (I have
seen web services which are run in the deployment yet they don't do
anything for the last 2 releases and more are coming!)

- leaving out web services that are not part of any external use-case or
scenario (e.g. WS + UI for management of the internal project stuff, PoC ..)

I am not sure how much we would save in terms of memory and deployment
time as there are no numbers or statistics, but I suspect that at least
a discussion would be worthwhile.

Br,

Pavel

Could you advise on the process we should follow to introduce this
non-functional requirement to the Dublin release?

*Requirement: Use ONAP Normative Base Images to Improve deployability
and reduce footprint and resource consumption*

*Rationale:*
Both operators looking to experiment with ONAP and developers
producing ONAP containers report long build times and high resource
consumption. The OOM team also reports long deployment times and high
resource consumption.

Furthermore, small, efficient images also address the issue some
operators have reported when they have attempted to deploy ONAP to
"kick the tires."

*Proposed solution and benefits:*
ONAP's CIA project has identified a set of container base images that,
if adopted,  would alleviate the problems of resource consumption and
long build times ONAP projects are experiencing.

Experiments conducted with the proposed base images have produced
container images that were up to two orders of magnitude smaller.
Smaller images translate into smaller build and deploy times as well
as smaller footprint.

*Community support:*
The idea of using these normative base images was presented to the PTL
community on October 8th, 2018. There is consensus and  support for
the adoption of these base images and for the introduction of a
non-functional requirement for Dublin.

It was suggested that also cover the requirement under S3P, Jason Hunt
has been made aware of the requirement.

*Timeline:*
We propose that the requirement be met by M3.

Thanks,

Adolfo

Hi all,

I haven't looked at the nature of the security vulnerability in Jackson,
but would it make sense to consider an alternative solution - paying the
Jackson community to fix the vulnerability? It might be more cost
effective than the cost of  manpower needed to move away from Jackson
(replace direct code usage, circumvent usage in frameworks, do something
with 3rd party libs that use it etc.) and deal with the regression fallout.

It's just a brainstorming idea..

Hi Pam and Gildas,

During the AAI weekly meeting, we discussed the replacement of FasterXML

Having shared it with the Seccom meeting, we thought it might be a good topic

Could we discuss this topic at the next PTL meeting?

I have added an item to the agenda for the 15th:

Re: [onap-discuss] [DMAAP] description of dmaap properties

2018-08-31 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi Sunil,

great job! I am happy to report that the random exceptions
(classnotfound, nullpointer ..) are gone.

There is yet another issue:

When I set TransportType=HTTPAUTH it says:
*java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: password is needed*

Although password is properly configured. You can try it in your test
app. The problem is the following code:

 authDate = props.getProperty("authDate");
 if (authDate == null || authDate.isEmpty()) {
   throw new IllegalArgumentException("password is needed");
 }

Please *could you explain* what is the difference between

username + password

and

authKey + authDate

when I set TransportType to HTTPAUTH

???

Thanks,
Pavel

Hi all,

I am trying to create a DMAAP consumer using the project
org.onap.dmaap.messagerouter.dmaapclient. There is the following property file
available:

TransportType=
Latitude=
Longitude=
Version=
ServiceName=
Environment=
Partner=
routeOffer=
SubContextPath=
Protocol=
MethodType=
username=
password=

AFT_DME2_EP_CONN_TIMEOUT=
AFT_DME2_ROUNDTRIP_TIMEOUT_MS=
AFT_DME2_EP_READ_TIMEOUT_MS=
sessionstickinessrequired=
DME2preferredRouterFilePath=

Could the community point me to a description of these properties? Some are self-explanatory like
"topic" others are ambiguous and quite technical like "SubContextPath" or
"routeOffer" and I don't know what they mean or what values they expect.

In order to use the DMAAP client it would be helpful to understand how to
configure it.

Any hints are appreciated!

Pavel

haproxy[30007]: backend IST_AAI_8446 has no server available!

When we get inside main AAI pod  haproxy is running but only 8080 and
8443 are listening. Have you encountered such problem and do you know
how to solve it?

[onap-discuss] github att dmaap-framework docker

2018-06-11 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi,

I wanted to try running the dmaap router via docker. I tried running
"docker run attos/dmaap" and expected some (http?) activity on ports
3904 or 3905, but there is none. The netstat in the container is:

root@0a3368cf37a5:/appl# netstat -anp
Active Internet connections (servers and established)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address   Foreign Address
State   PID/Program name

Active UNIX domain sockets (servers and established)
Proto RefCnt Flags   Type   State I-Node PID/Program
name    Path

unix  2  [ ] STREAM CONNECTED 991924 7/java
unix  2  [ ] STREAM CONNECTED 994745 7/java

Is this ok? I expected "|curl  --request GET localhost:3904||/topics|"
to be working. Am I missing a depencency or a configuration step?

Thanks,

Pavel

[onap-discuss] VPN to Wind river lab requesting re-login

2018-05-23 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi,I don’t know if it’s just me, but after a while the VPN
connection requests the login credentials again and if I don’t provide them in
a certain period of time, the connection drops. This is very annoying when you
are working on smth and suddenly the terminals stop responding. Is there a way
to have a permanent VPN connection to the Wind River lab without it requesting
re-login? Thanks,Pavel

[onap-discuss] openstack config data access

Hi all,

It seems I am unable to get the openstack config data. Anyone else has a
similar issue or knows what could have changed?

Re: [onap-discuss] ssh to wind river machines

2018-02-15 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi all,

for all openstack newbies (like myself) - if anyone wants to
re-associate their machine with a new IP I found the following steps:

1. log into the jumpstataion (IP: 10.12.5.50)

2. download and run the openstack RC file (found on the page
http://10.12.25.2/project/access_and_security/) - you can now run
openstack and nova commands

3. do a "nova list" command.

4. do a "nova network-list" command

5. associate the networks interface with the machine with the command:
"nova interface-attach --net-id id_of_network server_name"

Pavel

Hi Alexis, does it make sense to provide sample values (in the
sample config file) for the winriver pod lab or a description how to obtain
them? For example I am not allowed (403) to read the openstack services so I am
not sure how to get the service tenant name (maybe I am using the wrong
command). It would also be interesting to know what subset of these config keys
is mandatory (if any) and which are optional.Br,Pavel On Thu, 18 Jan 2018

[onap-discuss] network storage pod lab

2018-01-08 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi,

we are creating multiple database instances in the POD lab with
oom/kubernetes.

Question 1: I need network storage (like NFS, iSCSI, Cinder ...) for
storing data from these DBs. Is there anything like that in the pod lab?

Question 2: How can I access openstack in the POD lab? Is there a
dedicated machine from which I could use openstack?

Thanks!

Is this a known issue?

Re: [onap-discuss] R1 Blitz: Intermittent AAI-vm1 container startup failures in HEAT - manual /opt/aai_install.sh fails but installs docker and pulls images

2017-11-26 Thread Pavel Paroulek

Hi Michael,

I had exactly the same problem (reported in AAI-460) on a standalone
linux box. At first I was also trying to modify /etc/hosts. I solved it
in my env (accidentally it seems) by purging all images and containers
and re-running the complete AAI docker installation (as suggested by
Harish). Maybe there is an intermittent problem?

Re: [onap-discuss] running AAI in docker

2017-11-16 Thread Pavel Paroulek
thnx, unfortunately I am still struggling. The hostname
"aai.hbase.simpledemo.openecomp.org" points to localhost of the docker
host now (I am not sure if this is correct), in logs from aai-traversal
I see:

This client just lost it's session with ZooKeeper, closing it. It will
be recreated next time someone needs it
org.apache.zookeeper.KeeperException$SessionExpiredException:
KeeperErrorCode = Session expired

and then I get:

java.lang.RuntimeException:
com.thinkaurelius.titan.diskstorage.TemporaryBackendException: Temporary
failure in storage backend
    at
com.thinkaurelius.titan.diskstorage.hbase.HBaseStoreManager.getDeployment(HBaseStoreManager.java:351)
    at
com.thinkaurelius.titan.diskstorage.hbase.HBaseStoreManager.getFeatures(HBaseStoreManager.java:389)

in aai-resource I am getting an NPE (probably it's related to the above
problem):

org.onap.aai.exceptions.AAIException: java.lang.NullPointerException
    at
org.onap.aai.rest.LegacyMoxyConsumer.getLegacy(LegacyMoxyConsumer.java:291)
    at
org.onap.aai.rest.LegacyMoxyConsumer.getLegacy(LegacyMoxyConsumer.java:221)

and in aai-model-loader I am getting:

failed to connect to url: /sdc/v1/distributionUebCluster
    java.net.UnknownHostException: c2.vm1.sdc.simpledemo.openecomp.org:
Name or service not known

in aai-ui I am getting a different error:

in route:
Route(inventory-ui-service:serverStaticContent:v1)[[From[att... because
of Failed to resolve endpoint:
att-static-content:///opt/app/sparky/staticContent/aai/webapp due to: No

in the project aai-data-router I am getting the following error:

java.net.UnknownHostException: mr.api.simpledemo.openecomp.org: Name or
service not known

Is there a way to get the docker A working under a clean ubuntu
systems and if yes is there any documentation how to do it?
I think it's just a matter of configuration (correct entries in
/etc/hosts perhaps ??) but I am unable to figure out how to set it up
properly.

any tips are welcome :)

Subject: [onap-discuss] running AAI in docker

Hi,

does anyone know how to get A docker working?

I tried to follow
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__onap.readthedocs.io_en_latest_submodules_aai_aai-2Dcommon.git_docs_platform_Getting-2520Started_How-5Fto-5FDocker-5Fsetup-5Fon-5FSingle-5FVM.html=DwIGaQ=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg=Oej6QUk5p2KdqNEWySpOHA=__-tYc98iEeyhlc-bIkl8Fo9eKf5oCRtAe5G9E9UjOA=KQaQ4nb_-q_5Ae9JQxH4I4sqJKsxsOJppw6FRBT5MaU=
and except step 6. (commenting out an if statement, which I couldn't

find anymore) I did every step. After running the "./deploy_vm2.sh &&
./deploy_vm1.sh" scripts I get:

Waiting for 'testconfig_aai-resources.api.simpledemo.openecomp.org_1'
deployment to finish ...
Waiting for 'testconfig_aai-resources.api.simpledemo.openecomp.org_1'

Waiting for 'testconfig_aai-resources.api.simpledemo.openecomp.org_1'
deployment to finish ...
ERROR: testconfig_aai-resources.api.simpledemo.openecomp.org_1
deployment failed.

When I do "docker ps -a" I get:

CONTAINER ID IMAGE COMMAND  CREATED
STATUS   PORTS   NAMES
5a829013cb53 nexus3.onap.org:10001/openecomp/aai-resources   "/bin/bash
/opt/ap..."   1 hour ago Exited (1) 1 hour ago
testconfig_aai-resources.api.simpledemo.openecomp.org_1

When i start it manually with "docker start 5a829013cb" it exits after a
brief period of time.

My Docker version is 17.09.0-ce, build afdb6d4 and docker-compose
version 1.15.0, build e12f3b9 and I run on Linux ubuntu
4.10.0-38-generic (16.04).

Does anyone know how to figure out what is wrong? Anyone else has the
same issue?
