Are you which version of sparky are you using? If you using the one from
master, then you should be able to disable the portal profile from
application.properties in backend. This will make sure that you are not
redirected to portal for authentication.

In R3 the VES collector default configuration (driven from blueprint) are

Please refrain from using the openstack horizon VNC console to connect to the
VMs, as this places extra burden on the openstack controller. Instead, please
connect to the VMs using ssh.
