One more thing that could be important. I can install asterisk-addons-1.2.1,
and ooh323 channel driver that comes with it, easily. What differences have
been made? Maybe this can help you to change ooh323 drivers so they can be
installed on Fedora Core 4.

Hi Avin!

I have searched for mailing lists of libtoolize/autotools and I couldn't find
any. Except libtool@gnu.org where I have already asked and I have send you
their response.

I'm not complete Linux newbie, but I'm Linux newbie :)) I'm finding it wary
hard to organize and find what I'm looking for. Without your help I'm pretty
much lost.

I'll still would like to solve problem of installing asterisk-addons-1.2.2
(ooh323 v0.4) on Fedora Core 4. I'll spend my time as much as it needs, but I
don't have enough knowledge to do anything more without help.

2006-04-05 Thread Avin Patel
Hi Tomislav,
I can't upgrade my autotools, as I hadn't seen any problem, except this one.
And my autotools version upgrade can create problem with all the other
users, who are using older version.

If you can post this problem to libtoolize/autotools news group, as newer
version is not able to handle this case. They should have a solution to this
case.

2006-04-05 Thread Avin Patel
Hi Tomislav,
That should not be a problem, as you have already cleaned and regenerated
files with all the autotools, not using any file generated on my
computer(from automake, libtoolize, autoconf, ..)

As you already run the libtoolize and automake, you are not using those
files from my computer:
aclocal
libtoolize --automake
autoheader
automake -a -c
autoconf
configure
make
make install

Can you check what version of automake and libtoolize you have?

This is what Ralf have replied to me.

That is usually due to the package using an ancient Libtool (before 1.5) and a
non-ancient Automake (> 1.6) version. You could ask the package maintainer to
update both; current are 1.5.22 and 1.9.6.

And this is how Brian has explained what Ralph has said.

The versions of the tools on your system are irrelevent unless you are the
package's developer, i.e. you are the person that created the source tarball.
When just building somebody else's source code you are using whatever version
they used to create the package. That is why Ralf said "due to the package
using".

The normal way that the autotools work is that the distributed tarball is
standalone, i.e. it includes copies of all generated files so that the user
doesn't even need autoconf/automake/libtool installed on their system. This
means the developer of the package decides what versions are used, which is
normally a good thing.

In your case you might need to regenerate everything, you can normally do this
with "autoreconf --install --force". Sometimes though it is not that simple,
and in those cases you need to run a script that invokes the tools in the right
order with the right options, usually named something like "autogen.sh",
"bootstrap.sh", etc.

But what you really should do is report the failure to the package's author so
that he/she can address the version disparity (if that indeed is the problem.)

So, does ooh323 package includes copies of all generated files?
Do you need more information's from them? Do you need me anything to do?

Sorry, I have send those logs because I thought they may help.

aclocal
libtoolize --automake
autoheader

Those three commands execute without any messages, warnings or errors.
"automake -a -c" gives me this.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] asterisk-ooh323c]# automake -a -c
Makefile.am:2: `CFLAGS' is a user variable, you should not override it;
Makefile.am:2: use `AM_CFLAGS' instead.

Again, "autoconf" executes without any messages, warnings or errors.

"./configure" seams to pass all right.

And "make" gives me this error.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] asterisk-ooh323c]# make

Hi Wilmar!

Here is complete log. Starting with untar-ing asterisk-addons until last
executing command - make install.

P.S.
List has 40 kB limit, so I have split log in two parts.

Hi Avin!

I have already tried that. I get same error message. I'll try to catch complete
log of make command (like Wilmar has suggested). But I'm not sure how to do
that because log is longer than my ssh client can show on...

2006-03-30 Thread Avin Patel
Hi Tomislav,
If you are downloading asterisk-addons-1.2.2 version, than you will only
need to run the:
configure
make
su
make install

Might reinstalling will fix the problem. Don't try to run the
automake/autoconf/other auto tools.

I have tried this and it doesn't work.

Here is complete install procedure. Notice that automake -a -c gives me error
(I have continued with the procedure just to give you insight what happens
lather).

On VIA EPIA PD 6000 I have install Fedora Core 4. Then I installed zaptel
1.2.5, asterisk-1.2.6, asterisk-sounds-1.2.1 and on the end
asterisk-addons-1.2.2.
Then I execute this.

RE: [ooh323c-devel] ooh323 install problem

2006-03-29 Thread Avin Patel
Hi Tomislav,
I have tried to install the asterisk-1.2.6 and asterisk-1.2.2, It works
without any problem.

If you are not getting the shared object library, than try to run following
commands:

make distclean
autoconf
autoheader
automake -a -c
configure
make
su
make install
